We've been on a brilliant run, a superb run. Just get the feeling to win leagues we really need to win these games and we totally played in their hands today with us just hoofing the ball up so Stubbs and Yobo could practise their heading skills.

 

Thats seems to be the problem with two big lads upfront, its the easy option.

 

I dont like comparing us with other teams but I'm gonna do it anyway - there is no way Arsenal would of done that, nor the Scum, we were crying out for some to make the play and it didnt happen. Shame the only real playmaker we have is out for the season, King Luis may have made the difference today to give us that little spark.

Thought that during the game, Luis could have made a difference. He's played well in this fixture several times before.

I don't understand why we made the effort to buy wide men when we don't either play them or actually keep them wide. We played 3 at the back yet didn't get Finnan, Riise or Penant taking people on down the flanks. To be fair to Pennant he started to in the last 15 minutes but that wasn't enough.

Doubt Gonzalez would've made a difference today. Luis was needed, he would've done something different then constantly hoofing the ball to Crouch and Kuyt.

You obviously didn't see Arsenal lose to Sheffield United recently. All they did was hoof long balls for the last half-hour

it was a shocking display. Too many sloppy passes, too many balls in the air - Bellamy will never win a header against 2 defenders - no creativity & really only forced one save of any calibre

pennant didnt.. im not bashing him, he tried but he should have concentrated on getting the early ball in rather than beating people cause it wasnt happening for him today. Bellamy was very good today compared to the rest. ran his ass off and put them under pressure to put the ball out of play in their own half loads of times.

 

there was too much tension for any real creativity though.

Fair enough, I thought Pennant was our best player going forward today. He carried the ball, got it into the box and looked comfortable in possession. He was committing the full back more today too.

Disagree with that, he was being double teamed and barely got a couple of feet before turning around and passing it back or just losing possession. The crosses he did get in caused very little problems due to the way Everton set up. He doesn't really have the speed or skill to beat his man.
