I thought he was fairly average today to be honest...his goal aside.

 

For me Alonso was great and his passing is just beautiful.

For me Alonso was great and his passing is just beautiful.

Involved in both goals, worked hard and missed enormously when he went off. Xabi worked hard and played some fantastic balls but there was a few very casual touches from him, Gerrard, Hyypia, Kuyt and - yes, this is criticism of the great man - Finnan.

I'm as frustrated with Riise as anybody but that's well out of order. He made a great tackle on Harewood, he set up the second, he worked hard and he won some big headers in our box at the end.

 

I can see him going at the end of the season and all but to say he was utter crap just makes a mockery of the whole thing.
