floyd the barber Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 were superb... possibly the best we`ve sounded at home all season....with such an early kick off too! loved it when shevchenko came on...and the chant of 5 timeeeessss, sounded like it was coming from all the stands!
Guest sonofshankly Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Crowd was great from first min to last. When you think it was a 12.45 ko it was great atmosphere today.

Paul B Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 "He missed from 12 yards, he missed from 12 ya-ar-ards, Shevchenko, he missed from 12 yards" was my fave!
Guest Portly Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 I'm waiting for someone from Melbourne to tell us that the crowd was apathetic and didn't get behind the team enough.
McBain Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 The DIC heads in the crowd must have been impressed as well

Silencio Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Great perfomance. The reaction from the crowd when Shevchenko came on had me laughing out loud. Fantastic!
Kahnee Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Loved the cheering every pass and then booing when we lost the ball

Only minor quibble was that the Luis Garcia song got drowned out in a rare moment of competing halves of the Kop.
Cam Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Also lots of innuendo comments whenever Pennant & Cole were close - "show him your tackle" being the funniest.

Guest Verbal Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 "Where were you in Istanbul?" And a fantastic rendition of "5 Times" when Shevchenko came on the pitch. Serious question - did he touch the ball at all?
johngibo YPC Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Not sure if this has been mentioned but did anyone see or hear about an incident in the kop? My mate was sat near a fella who shouted 'f*** off you monkey' when SWP came on. A black fella took offense to this and confronted him. At first the man denied it but then he tried to apologise and shake his hand, but the black fella spat in his face! A few people went to get a steward so the man legged it, but apparantly he is a season ticket holder and will no doubt lose his seat. Anyone see it?
JohnnyH Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Great atmosphere, although some old scouser sitting behind me in the upper centenery looked at me as I was singing FOAR and said "We don't sing in this stand". Ignored him. I also take credit for the second goal as when the ball dropped to Pennant I shouted "Shoot" and he did, and it went in, thanks to me.

I did see a load of medics running up the stairs to about 205 at one point. It looked like a major emergency and the doc went up with his crash rucksack but it couldn't have been bad as they all came walking down again soon after. Whoever it was was carried out without too much fuss. Anyone know what went on there?

I agree it seemed that it wasn't as serious as it first looked

I was half way between Kop and halfway line (row 18 seat 160) and apart from the moner behind me and an old lad and his mrs sitting besied, everyone was singning and up for it. It didn'[t seem forced or anything, everyone just wanted to sing. Great, if not surprising for an early kick off. Certainly the best early kick off atmosphere I've experienced in a long time.

There was something on RAWK about it, can't remember if he got back. (guy suffers from epilepsy)
