Obviously the Watford game helped erase memories of those Arsenal defeats, but one thing the fans will never forget, certainly from the FA Cup game, is the atmosphere. What did the players make of it?

It was really special. The way the fans showed their support to the 96 people who died was amazing. They carried out their protest in front of the BBC cameras live for all the country to see, which was the best way. During those six minutes we had very strange feelings. I couldn't speak with my teammates because it was so noisy, and I think it was almost like the players were respecting those six minutes before they started the game.

Watching on the tele, I didnt feel like the game had started until the 6 mins ended, it was that surreal by the noise created. And most amazing thing about it was, the crowd never lowered their chanting when the ball was near the box like can happen when there's a song in progress that gets ditched for "SHOOT" or "CROSS IT!" - the chant was monotonous and strangely detached from the game of football.

Interesting that he picks Sami as his defender for his 5-a-side team - I would have thought that Agger would be more suited to a 5-a-side team than Sami.

Typical of Xabi, he shows appropriate knowledge of and respect for the whole JF96 thing - even after the Arsenal game, I'm not sure all our players would be so sympathetic, they do tend to live in a bubble at times.

Xabi is a Red Legend already, becoming even more of one as each day passes.

Does Rafa ever surprise you with his selections and formations?

Yes, you never know what he's going to do. You can't be 100 per cent sure he will do anything, but that is working very well.

Playing devil's advocat a bit here but surely that can't be good for cohesion and understanding.

Rafa's said in the past that if the players learn the system well then it won't matter who is playing. Rafa does a few things differently from other managers and will probably always get stick for it.

I think you had a long-term injury in the Champions League season; what advice would you give Luis?

I think he has to be focused on doing things properly. He shouldn't rush too much because that's not always the best way. He needs to respect what his knee is saying to him.

Luis's Knee: "Stop dicking around with the ball, Luis, and score more goals..."

Yep, he said something like "If you tell someone to do something they'll do it once, you teach someone to do something and they'll do it forever." I suppose they must be being taught loads of different variations of formations with different personnel. I just thought it would have been simpler for them to get one formation perfect but then what do I know!! Xabi says it's working well even tho they don't know what Rafa's gonna do so that must say something about him and his coaching team.
