From the BBC Gossip Column:

"Mourinho may pick Shevchenko against Liverpool just to keep the peace at "crisis club" Chelsea. (Various)"

Given the resentment that's bubbling over Shevchenko, the fact that it costs Robben hi splace, and a whole bunch of other factors, this could be a good thing.

It'll be Kalou that gets dropped and he'll probably score

I want them to be at their best and with no problems (real or imaginary) for anybody to use as an excuse. We need to beat them and beat them without a shadow of doubt over the result.

3 points is more important than them moaning... after all, whatever happens, Terry is out so it wouldn't be moan free anyway

and apparently Roman will not be there as he feels blues fans don't appreciate him enough.

it begins!

If that's true, it opens a whole new can of worms about their sustainable future.

Unimportant Dan - that we win is important - how is not. let them moan and bicker as much as they like so long as we win.

I'd be amazed if Robben didn't atart against us. It'd be sods law for Shevchenko to find his goalscoring touch against us!

Chelsea prefer using him as a sub, so I'd be surprised if he starts. Their typical game is to let the opposition work hard early in the game trying to put attacks together while Chelsea sit very deep, then in the second half when the opposition's knackered, they bring on at least one fast wide player, sometimes two, as an outlet for their counter-attacking game. It works quite well for them too, as they often get late goals through it. If they happen to be losing, of course, the special one's only other tactic is to move a centre-back forward and hoof a long stream of high balls at him. Their game's very simple and predictable really.

I reckon that's a very reasonable assessment.

Don't be daft. We should hope for any advantage we can before and after kick off.

Where did you see that mate? If that's true that's the most significant event of all this latest soap opera.

Nice to see all things arn't running smoothly at Chelsea with the injury problems and alledged frosty atmosphere between leading figures at the club........It's just that i wish those problems where instead afflicting OT rather than Chelsea though preferably both.

As long as someone breaks Lampards ankle and we win i couldn't care about the media circus surrounding this 'Chelsea Crisis' (got a feeling its a bit of in house manufactured 'everyone hates us' type of thing).

The Roman bit seems like a load of old cak, as if he cares if he's appreciated or not, I reckon if he misses LFC v CFC it'll be for a much more important reason as its one of the games of the season.

OTOH No smoke............

I agree. Let em bring their best. Can't stand the 'hope such and such is out' mentality.

F*ck that. I hope they get three men sent off at the kick off for not tucking their shirts in.

Couple of weeks ago my mate got a yellow card and £5 fine as soon as he came on the pitch as sub in a 5-a-side league match for wearing a studded ear-ring!

All this stuff may allow Mourinho to circle the wagons around him and his team under the old siege mentality ploy.

Very dangerous for us to imagine they will suddenly become a soft touch.

this part Mr Junk mentioned about Roman not coming to the game was on the sports news on the radio this morning.. i don't remember it saying it was because he didn't feel appreciated though.. i don't get this Chelsea furore where players are planning on going to see Roman about Jose to say how much he's loved etc - what if Roman turns round and says "ok then, keep him and i will go!" - they'd be up s*** creek.. there's is no fallback option i can see - if he goes then they can't possibly sustain themselves and it's highly unlikely Lampard, Terry et al will take a drop in wages to try and help..

i hope they do implode though the c****.. :)
