Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 which have actually been penned by the fans, i.e. YNWA doesn't count WORST has to be "Ste Gerrard, Gerrard; he'll pass a ball 40 yards..." BEST - while FOAR is a great one, Liverbird has it all for me
LondonLiverpoolFan Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 (edited) Just for Anny Road and AntM yesterday.... Attack, attack, attack, attack, attack! I agree with Liverbird though. Shame it isn't sung at the match to often anymore. Saying that though there were a few verses sung at Charlton away. Edited January 14, 2007 by LondonLiverpoolFan
Rico Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 (edited) Gerrard one is made worse by people singing 'hard'; I reckon it's 'ours'. Gerrard's never struck me as 'hard', anyway. Certainly not in a Vin Jones or what's his face from Man U stylee, anyway. I like The Reds are Coming up the Hill (or whatever if that's not the correct title), but I don't know all the words. I only know the bit I picked up at the airport on my flight out to stanbul, 'cause a bunch of young lads were singing it. Never seems to be sung when I'm at the match (I only get to home games). Earl Hafler Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 The Riise and Gerrard songs are terrible. My favs would be YNWA and Scouser Tommy.
charlie clown Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Scouser Tommy is ALWAY sung way too fast - it should be slow and stateley and atmospheric. Fields Of Anfield Road is great but hardly ever gets sing with verses I like A Liverbird Upon My Chest and The Reds Are COming Up The Hill Boy. The two I really hate are Ring OF Fire - just sounds like something any no-mark drunken tosspot can join in with without having any feeling or assocation with the club and the LIverpool- Liverpool chant (not much of a song I know) cause its just kak.
Dave_the_Red Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Best : Poor scouser Tommy Worst:: Ow r yeah............................ I f***ing cringe
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 14, 2007 Author Posted January 14, 2007 Scouser Tommy is ALWAY sung way too fast - it should be slow and stateley and atmospheric. very true
New York Red Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 I see the other thread on songs and it made me realize, I have no idea of what these songs are. Watching LFC on the tele, you can barely hear them and you only catch little bits of it. Can you identify the name of the song and match it up with the most famous line from it? For instance, I can't stand the "Won it five times" song but I have no idea what it is called. Skip the YNWA. I know that one...

It's just called 5 times The one where you hear the crowd sing "And could he play" - that's Fields of Anfield Road, which for my money is our best song.
magneto Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 We here in South Africa have started singing "6 times" and "Athens" 7 times and Moscow (although I"m not sure its gonna be held there)8 times...Canary Islands9 times...Old Trafford
sutty Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 I'm not a massive fan of FOAR I like Every other Saturday and Gary Macca.
LondonLiverpoolFan Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 (edited) I'm not a massive fan of FOAR I like Every other Saturday and Gary Macca. Every other saturday was a Rangers song first wasn't it? Edited January 14, 2007 by LondonLiverpoolFan
Earl Hafler Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 I'm not a massive fan of FOAR I like Every other Saturday and Gary Macca. Yeah, i love the Gary Macca song. That and Rafa In Istanbul are my favourite songs about players / staff. Oh we loved yer derby goal..
cliff p Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 can remember going back to the 90's the kop singing "hes a c*nt, hes a c*nt, the referees a c*unt" to the tune of the shamens ebeneezer goode which really was terrible. thankfully it never lasted long
ion Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 The 'eeze a c**t" thing I found amusing - first heard it at the Goodison derby, '93? (Mo f*****g Johnson) It coincided with the change in referees' kit to an array of jazzy colours - so no one could sing "who's the b*****d in the black" anymore, the most popular choral work of the day, so they were trying to come up with a new song, and of course that Ebeneeza s**** was doing everyone's heads in... so it seemed appropriate.
Paul B Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Worst song, not just of ours but of all time, MUST be that tripe some sing about Steve Finnan. Now I like Finnan but I tell you, at aways, I hope Steve has a steady but unspectacular game because he moves into the oppo's half three times and lashes in a good cross or two and the thing is aired! AAAARRRRRRRRGGGgggggghhhhhhhh! I HATE it!
Sion Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 I Love anfield road, but hate it when it sounds slurred. Ohhhhhhhaooooo and he could play. ooooohahhh oh ah songs to sing.....ohhhohhh glory........FIELDS OF ANFIELD ROAD!!!
m4ttc Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 He's shot, he's c**, all over Tina's bum..Peter Shiltion was my All Time Fave

dorgie Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 l i v e r p double o l liverpool fc Always reminds me of the Robert Carlyle character in the Cracker film based around the Hillsborogh disaster.
KBR Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 there's a song I keep hearing the fans sing, the mancs sing one very similar for some reason... anyone know which one?
Ramón Benítez Hernández Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 there's a song I keep hearing the fans sing, the mancs sing one very similar for some reason... anyone know which one? We won it five timesWe won it five timesIn IstanbulWe won it five times. ------------------------ The Mancs version... We won it 2 timesWe won it 2 timesWithout killing anyoneWe won it 2 times
RP Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Yeah, but we have one equally bad in response to their "without killing anyone". Terrible it is. Terrible. Doesn't make me laugh at all. Not ever.
johngibo YPC Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 I like every other saturday the best prob. It the one i'm most likely to sing after 10 pints of Lager anywayNot overally keen on Liverbird.Finnans song is indeed garbageI would agree that PST can be too fast but the ultra slow version that's sung in some pubs is ridiculousMy least favourite song, that some of my mates love is "we're not good, we're not bad, we are eeeevvviiiil"I argue its stupid, they reckon its boss
