Just remembered this (prompted by a post by Slapnuts in another thread).

When Sami scored that header, it was mentioned that we could do no worse than playing him upfront. At the time I thought why not and still do.

Anyone else ?

Sami would be no more than a ppor mans crouch up front, and that's not saying much! His movement and everything would be terrible me thinks!

Good to hear you making constructive suggestions. You were a bit negative yesterday.

You're still mental, mind.

As defenders go, I think he is well suited for Mourinho Plan B tactic. Good at attacking headers. Slow as a steamtrain, but strong as an ox. Funnily, he looks more clueless at times with time on the ball at the back then the few times he ventures forward with it.

Never as a starting tactic though.

I might be imagining it but I remember reading something that he actually started life off as a striker before moving to defence..

..but this is probably not the answer!

You can say that again.

He's scored the odd header but he's no Steve Bruce or John Terry unfortunately

Sami has scored 27 goals in 393 games for us. That's better than the 'odd header' for a defender, imo.
