Guest Strictly Commercial Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Usally i am not one for kneejerk reactions but how much we miss Reina when he is not in goal has been highlighted by Dudek in these past 2 games, he has let in some of the softest shots i can remember and has cost us hopes of both the FA Cup and Carling Cup. What is he playing at? And why is he in goal tonight after his awful showing on Saturday? Hes been a good servant for Liverpool but he needs to go and Carson needs to be recalled A.S.A.P.
Hugh Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 He's been f***ing pathetic tonight. Its such a pity. A nice guy but he's wrecked his reputation by staying on and playing like this.
psl Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 If he'd gone after Istanbul he'd be remembered in a similar regard to Vladi. Its a shame it didnt happen for whatever reason.
WelshSpikeMikey Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Good servant but not a "legend" as so many simply love to claim. He'll be remembered for Istanbul but even a lot of that was Dudek being a victim of circumstance and luck. He'll be remembered but a lot of the time because he was an absolute joke between the sticks. 7 goals scored over the past 3 days, one of them he could do nothing about (the last one). He should've saved more than the massive total of zero, though. He had six bites at a pretty decent cherry and still failed. The sooner he's gone the better.
Foo Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 (edited) I'd easily forgive him because of 25.5.05. But he has not played well today either sadly. Edited January 9, 2007 by Foo
spencer Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Scary thing is that if Reina gets injured, Dudek is the replacement.
Spoone Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Scary thing is that if Reina gets injured, Dudek is the replacement. Scary thing is the best keeper in the league at the moment is ours but is at Charlton.
Tosh Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 To be fair.... how many times have that back 4 inforn of him played together? Excluding Sami, how many times have they played 1st team football for us? Poor show from Dudek but the players in front are meant to defend him
jfogarty Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 The guy rarely plays and I doubt he has ever played with such a bad defence. Yes he is playing s*** but theres a few others out there with him
lfc003 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 i can't seem to remember the last time we kept a clean sheet with him in goal, does anyone know?
shanklyn Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 If he had me and 3 of my mates in front of him, there is no excuse for the last 2 games . He has been shocking, almost a joke. That said, in my eyes he will always be a Legend that played a massive part in the best day of my life. Thanks fella.

And you should never call yourself a Liverpool supporter again. Why is on here that as soon as it is clear a player is going to leave in the summer, the all a sudden become responsible for everything bad that happens. You are an idiot.
Bootle Buck Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 He has absolutely no confidence anymore. He has let in 9 goals in two games and quite frankly was pathetic on 6 of them at least. However, I am even more amazed with Rafa honoring his agreemnet to play in the cup games. I thought the idea was to win and not keep every nice guy happy.
G Richards Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Dudek is one of the nice guys in football. The heroics he performed in Istanbul mean that he has earned a special place in our history. It's a shame for him that he never moved on after that night. He could have left a hero. Now he looks devoid of any confidence (not his strongest suit anyway) and he just does not look robust in goal. The goals he has conceded in the past two games... He will be gone soon enough. I can't bring myself to slag him though. He's a gentleman and he should not walk alone.

Even if this promise was the plan, keep it quiet so no-one can use it against you.
Kite Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Sad that his last game for us (assuming, fingers crossed, nothing happens to Reina til the end of the season) was to let in six goals and exit two cup competitions largely on the basis of his own performance. He was a red hero and he is a really nice guy. Just isn't cutting it as a top grade keeper any more
hideNseek Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 At least 4 goals over those 2 games Dudek should've saved. Time to go Jerzy lad.
Ian Mc Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Over both games he has been truly shocking, same type of form he was showing in 2003. The back 4 looked totally at sea every time arsenal attacked, no surprise when they see whats in goal behind them. Absolute Gash ..... but is he arsed?
CarraLegend Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Some seemed surprised at how bad he's been but dunno why, he's been poor for what 4 years now? he made f***s ups against Leverkusen, Chelsea and even Milan but will always be remembered for what he done from about 117minutes onwards and rightly so. Absolute Gash ..... but is he arsed? Of course he f***ing is or do you think he goes out there saying to himself "i'll humiliate myself infront of the country and maybe even the world just for a laugh like"
liverbird04 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 He was so bad I thought he was throwing the match at one point.

He was so bad I thought he was throwing the match at one point. How dare you make such an accusation ...cmon he did make a step right for the free-kick, a brave attempt at saving a goal by all accounts. Gerrard gave him a good b******ing after that... well in stevie.
Guest Greasy Belcher Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Dudek, should have gone after Istanbul, he's conceed a few goals in a few games since. He's severly tarnishing his reputation with every display. I know people are going to say "but what about that save against shevchenco in istanbul" - Well I was right behind the goal at that game, and it was truly a "hand of god" moment, but that does not mean your guaranteed a place in the squad for life. Istanbul has now become the past, and we have to stop living in that to have a future. In 2 games arsenal have had 11 shots on target and scored 9. We had 17 shots on goal tonight alone. I don't just blame dudek for tonight, the defence was an absolute shambles, Palletta should be shot for some of his "defending" tonight. I'd have a go at Rafa, but the season is far from over, I think Rafa believes we still have a chance to make a good showing in the league and of course the Champions League. Hats off against tonight to stevie Gerrard, what a goal, what a free kick. had that gone in and Palletta not ice skated on his a*** for the 6th goal. It could have been the most unbelievable comeback we've ever seen. Unfortunatly we got spanked. And rightly so, Arsenal were on fire, we were for long periods, a joke. 100% respect to the Liverpool support at the ground. Magic stuff.
