I watched a compilation today on that Final in 2005 and neither scares as much as when Dudek somehow managed that one handed save after Shevchenko shot from two yards!

Shevchenko's was all a bit sudden. Gudjohnsen's seem to float over to him in slow motion. I actually got scared at Gudjohnsen's but Sheva's was onto the track before I'd realised what was going on.

I would have died had Gudjohnson scored. For f*ck sake, the ref added something like 7 minutes of added time and Gudjohnson had that shot in the 95th or 96th minute. Honestly I would have killed the ref had he scored. Sheva's shot and Dudek's save all happened so quickly I didn't have time to think.

The world stopped still long enough for me to feel physically ill watching Gudjohnsen's chance. Would have been a crime against humanity for them t***s to get to the final (perhaps a very slight exaggeration there I'll concede).

 

Sheva's I was already elated we had managed to get where we were at that stage plus it seemed to happen a whole lot faster.

Definitely Gudjohnsons, I saw him get the ball and i thought damn that's it.

Definitely Gudjonson for me. The slow-motion way it came to him and how the TV camera angle was right behind him as he shot made it horrible to watch. Even now, I think it's going to go in.

 

Sheva's two shots were too fast for me to realise what had happened until Dudek stood there nodding.

Sheva was almost slowmotion for me. I was sure it would go in before he even connected with the ball. Feel the same way everytime I see it.
