briant2001 Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I don't know about anyone else - but I feel sick to my stomach hearing the FACup 4th round draw - part of me waited to hear who we would play! I can't believe we've gone out so early - we should still be in there
Spike Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 i feel sick but mainly because of the Lillith from Frazier / cheers thread in the genny.
Guest Cameron Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Yeah, hate the tame manner in which we surrendered our trophy, much like the way we lost our European title. A League 2 side is in the next round but the holders aren't!
Bootle Buck Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 What's even more dissappointing is the high hopes we all got once again after a fine performance against Bolton. This would have been a great opportunity to defend our cup with a great perfromnace against a top team currently in form. However, silly mistakes have once again highlighted our weaknesses and just how far we are from the finished article. I'm sure Barca will be rubbing their hands after watching that too.
Raj Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I'm sure Barca will be rubbing their hands after watching that too. They're not exactly on fire at the moment. Besides, it will be a totally different game with Barcelona playing a much more open attacking game then Arsenal chose to on Saturday.
Harrison Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I'm sure Juventus, Chelsea and Milan were rubbing their hands together when we got beat by Burnley...
cestrianred Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 (edited) I'm sure Juventus, Chelsea and Milan were rubbing their hands together when we got beat by Burnley... And Utd ey Ostrich Man?Oh sorry I forgot, you always go out at the group stage or last 16 don't you. Edited January 8, 2007 by cestrianred
RafaShanks Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Fancied doing another job on Fat Head & Sammy Pee. Nevermind.
jfogarty Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Disappointed yes but sick no. If we won every game football would be boring. You have to be realistic and accept that these things are going to happen over the course of the season and eventually they even themselves out. Arsenal may play us off pitch in April yet we may win the game. The weeks rest we now have in Feb could also be crucial in preparation for Barca
Ostrich Man Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 And Utd ey Ostrich Man?Oh sorry I forgot, you always go out at the group stage or last 16 don't you.youve not been interested in this soccer malarkey for long have you?
anny road Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 youve not been interested in this soccer malarkey for long have you? what are you doing in here be goneback to the general with ya go on
Herbie von Smalls Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 gutted we're out, but gotta look at the positives of having more energy and focus for the other three competitions we're still involved in.
Nebraska Red Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 get over it, it's the FA Cup and these things happen. we were cr@p on saturday but we have a chance to take our revenge tomorrow in the League Cup game. on the plus side our players get 2 Saturdays of rest when the 4th and 5th round games get played.
Tosh Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Last time we won the cup, we went out early to Arsenal...
Poolfrog Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 I don't know about anyone else - but I feel sick to my stomach hearing the FACup 4th round draw - part of me waited to hear who we would play! I can't believe we've gone out so early - we should still be in there It's not exactly a unique situation. After our first ever cup win in 1965 we were knocked out at home in the 3rd round (as far as I remember) by Chelsea. These things happen
