Ombudsam Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Being as the board consensus is that the twice portuguese league, twice premiership, portuguese cup, league cup, Champions' League and UEFA cup winner is a limited manager with no plan B i imgaine you'll all be gutted. I'm made up personally. Hiddink is set to be the replacement according to some. Good manager from what I can see but I'd rather him in charge
crisps Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Guus Hiddink is ready to step down as Russia's national team coach after admitting he gets on 'very well' with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. Widespread reports in Sunday's newspapers claim current Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho may not be in charge of the club next season. Hiddink is rumoured to be Abramovich's preferred choice of any replacement for Mourinho and the Dutchman revealed he has spoken to the Blues supremo. "Abramovich has created a massive football academy here (in Russia)," Hiddink told Elf Magazine. "But he told me that Russia has not played a significant role in football for 10 years. He asked me if I could give him a helping hand. "He was here the other day. He and I talked for a while about a number of things. "He stays in the background and he is not pushy with things. "I get on with him very well." Hiddink is leading Russia through their Euro 2008 qualifying campaign, but confirmed he is preparing to hand over control to his assistant Alexander Borodjuk. He added: "It's really time to say in Russia 'Borodjuk takes over now'. "I have the energy to go and do something new and I get a lot of satisfaction out of that. "The past few years I have enjoyed a lot of success. I'm grooming my assistant as a top-class coach, so I'm no longer needed soon."

She knows a few coaches at the bridge and they think he will be gone.. interesting to see, if he does go, where he goes to United?
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 he's gone on record as saying he wants to manage the Portugese national team. But as Scolari has just signed a new 4-y deal, that means one more shortish stint with another club & then Int'l mgt
Buzz Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 all r told me aboput Mourinho before Xmas.... She knows a few coaches at the bridge and they think he will be gone.. interesting to see, if he does go, where he goes to United? Barca, or maybe Newcastle, WestHam, Charlton....?
Guest Kev Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Going from RP's thread before Christmas about it, I phoned Century FM on Wednesday night and told the Legends
Stevie H Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 all r told me aboput Mourinho before Xmas.... She knows a few coaches at the bridge and they think he will be gone.. interesting to see, if he does go, where he goes to United? got to be italy or spain for a spell hasn't it? milan might want a new manager after this season.
Stevie H Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Seem to recall people saying he'll go to Inter.if they retain the scudetto this season there'd be no reason to replace mancini.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 he'd fit in well at Inter. All a bunch of c****. Were Inter actually credited with last season's title? Last I read, there was a good chance of the Italian FA calling it a void year
Benzo-13 Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 I'd say Mourinho would go to AC Milan. Adidas sponsored like JM and Ancelotti has run his course now.
jimmylibel Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Mourinho has been consistantly quoted as saying he'd like to coach in Italy next. Couple of years in Serie A and then he'll come back to be the Manc's manager I reckon.
Cunny Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 The Times Podcast has been saying he is off for a few months now. Marcotti reckons it's a possibility and that he may go to Inter in the summer.
stressederic Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 if they retain the scudetto this season there'd be no reason to replace mancini. At what point did Inter acquire common sense?
Flanders Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 If Chelsea go down the road of changing the manager every other season it can only be good for us.
dorgie Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 If Chelsea go down the road of changing the manager every other season it can only be good for us. Gullit, Vialli, Ranieri, Mourinho.......methinks they've been doing just that for quite some time now.
growler Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 him going to italy would mean he would fit in with thier style of play. Now ay he could do it in spain. they like good football there. Personally, more worried about Hiddink at chelsea. He's a good manager.
Flanders Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Gullit, Vialli, Ranieri, Mourinho.......methinks they've been doing just that for quite some time now.The first three were a different era.Mourinho has won the title in both of his seasons, now I guess they want it done with breathtaking style. Hopefully nothing will be enough for RA. Personally, more worried about Hiddink at chelsea. He's a good manager. He is a good manager, but not great. Does his record match Mourinhos?I hope he gets the job, he will be under pressure (more than JM was) to get it right from the first game, in a league totally different to what he is used to. Maybe Roman will chip in with a few more signings like Shevchenko aswell.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Gullit, Vialli, Ranieri, Mourinho.......methinks they've been doing just that for quite some time now. gullit 1½ season, vialli 2½ seasons, ranieri, 4 bloody seasons. I'd hope Mourinho doesn't last that long.
ManxRed Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 On the radio this morning, he was asked twice after the Wycombe game if he was leaving in the Summer. On both occasions his answer was 'that's not important, what is important is Chelsea football club'. The second time he was asked it was specifically in the context of 'so you're not denying you're leaving then.' Same reply. It certainly looks like he's off then.
sean Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Most of all that job will require a big personality or be at least a brilliant manager, I doubt Hiddink has either qualities in abundance.
Stevie H Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 get the impression that mourinho is doing to groundwork for his departure at the moment don't you?
Spike Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 exactly Steve. Especially given his comments today about not being able to sign anyone in this transfer window. looks like the board are saving their cash and signings for whoever comes in wants.
