anny road Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Firstly, I'll get the football out of the way....we defended porrly for the goals, Dudek made a couple of errors, we should have had a pen...we played ok without hurting them Now more importantly....what a 10 minutes that was.....that was MAGIFICENT
floyd Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 (edited) True, even at home in Cleveleys, my 9 year old lad was chanting. Edited January 6, 2007 by floyd
DazzlaJ Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 True, even at home in Cleveleys, my 9 year old lad was chanting. Dudek out? My one year old was doing the same
jimmylibel Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Firstly, I'll get the football out of the way....we defended porrly for the goals, Dudek made a couple of errors, we should have had a pen...we played ok without hurting themNow more importantly....what a 10 minutes that was.....that was MAGIFICENT Agreed it was amazing. An absolute spectacle. Did anyone else think Motson was actually starting to get annoyed by it?
Beardsley Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 For those of you who where there today, I'll take my OOT jester hat off. You lads where absolutely immense today. Made me proud to watch the game - and LISTEN to the game Wish I was there...sigh
Des Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 (edited) f*** the result. Justice For The 96 was sung loud tonight and heard by millions. That's a proper result. All 3 goals were sloppy like... Edited January 6, 2007 by Des
Knox_Harrington Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Agreed it was amazing. An absolute spectacle. Did anyone else think Motson was actually starting to get annoyed by it?He was getting annoyed because there was f*** all happening in the game and it meant he had to discuss it further than the brief which probably was "Look, we can't pretend this isn't happening but do the best you can..."
Des Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 He was getting annoyed because there was f*** all happening in the game and it meant he had to discuss it further than the brief which probably was "Look, we can't pretend this isn't happening but do the best you can..." To be fair, at least they acknowledged it, which is more than we could've expcted from Sky.
Knox_Harrington Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 To be fair, at least they acknowledged it, which is more than we could've expcted from Sky.Yeah, the BBC's good at things like that to be fair. But they didn't want to go beyond a certain point I don't think. There was a reticience to mention the specific McKenzie/BBC side of things.
muleskinner Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 I think as a football(and a generally decent bloke I imagine) man to his bones Motson is as outraged by Mckenzie as the rest of us, he just can't express it professionally. He did at one stage say 'we can't ignore it, we shouldn't ignore it' which was good given his circumstances.
Andy Mac Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 The whole Justice protest went off brilliantly. It looked and sounded amazing. A credit to everyone involved. As for the match - I'm still not totally convinced Crouch and Kuyt can play up front together. I think we look ponderous and "blunt" when they play. Dudek was poor today. His position for the first goal was poor. For the second the defending was keystone kops but he still should have got a hand to it. He should have saved the third, too. I think we were odds on to score an equaliser before Carra tried (understandably) to keep the ball in play for their third. Still, that's the way it goes. Look on the bright side, the last time we went out of the Cup so early we ended up as Champions of Europe
slapnuts Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Now more importantly....what a 10 minutes that was.....that was MAGIFICENT Totally it sounded class.
floyd the barber Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 (edited) question - ok so the justice chants first 6mins...excellent.. why was the kop so quiet during the rest of the 84?? Even last 10 when we were still in it before a*** scored the 3rd........it was dead quiet. Edited January 7, 2007 by Winding Wheel
Guest Scot Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 We didn't get the game here, so I'm delighted to hear that it was represented so well. I wish I'd been able to see it.
slapnuts Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 hopefully someone will put it on youtube scot.
Guest Scot Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 hopefully someone will put it on youtube scot. Aye that'd be grand, thanks for reminding me of that. I'll make a point of looking for it.

pinstriped Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Fantastic! Really appreciate it.no problem, really powerful stuff. complete respect for everyone involved in making this happen.
Guest Portly Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 question - ok so the justice chants first 6mins...excellent.. why was the kop so quiet during the rest of the 84?? Even last 10 when we were still in it before a*** scored the 3rd........it was dead quiet. There's no satisfying some people! The crowd support was excellent all through the match in my opinion. Arsene Wenger commented on it after the game. Were you actually present at Anfield, or watching on TV?
suzyv Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 The Kop were great today but watching on tv we could not be heard a lot of the time I do think that they turn down the sound of the supporters.
Guest Sabre Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 I thought the crowd sounded good even after the first 6 minutes. The YNWA at the end was good, and we went through an array of chants for about another 5/6 minutes at the beginning.
nb Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 On tv the atmosphere sounded very good IMO. Well done to everyone who was there! "You`ll never walk alone" when we were 3-1 behind at the end was a demonstration of class.
