Firstly, I'll get the football out of the way....we defended porrly for the goals, Dudek made a couple of errors, we should have had a pen...we played ok without hurting them

 

 

Now more importantly....what a 10 minutes that was.....that was MAGIFICENT

He was getting annoyed because there was f*** all happening in the game and it meant he had to discuss it further than the brief which probably was "Look, we can't pretend this isn't happening but do the best you can..."

To be fair, at least they acknowledged it, which is more than we could've expcted from Sky.

Yeah, the BBC's good at things like that to be fair. But they didn't want to go beyond a certain point I don't think. There was a reticience to mention the specific McKenzie/BBC side of things.

I think as a football(and a generally decent bloke I imagine) man to his bones Motson is as outraged by Mckenzie as the rest of us, he just can't express it professionally. He did at one stage say 'we can't ignore it, we shouldn't ignore it' which was good given his circumstances.

The whole Justice protest went off brilliantly. It looked and sounded amazing. A credit to everyone involved.

 

As for the match - I'm still not totally convinced Crouch and Kuyt can play up front together. I think we look ponderous and "blunt" when they play. Dudek was poor today. His position for the first goal was poor. For the second the defending was keystone kops but he still should have got a hand to it. He should have saved the third,too. I think we were odds on to score an equaliser before Carra tried (understandably) to keep the ball in play for their third.

 

Still, that's the way it goes. Look on the bright side, the last time we went out of the Cup so early we ended up as Champions of Europe

why was the kop so quiet during the rest of the 84??

 

Even last 10 when we were still in it before a*** scored the 3rd........it was dead quiet.

The Kop were great today but watching on tv we could not be heard a lot of the time I do think that they turn down the sound of the supporters.

I thought the crowd sounded good even after the first 6 minutes. The YNWA at the end was good, and we went through an array of chants for about another 5/6 minutes at the beginning.

On tv the atmosphere sounded very good IMO. Well done to everyone who was there! "You`ll never walk alone" when we were 3-1 behind at the end was a demonstration of class.
