1. If a game is abandoned, the score does not count.

However is a player is cautioned or sent-off then it does count.

If a player is banned for the abandoned game, it still counts as a missed match even though it technically wasn't played !!

1. Cup Tied

The Cup Tied rule was apparently brought in to stop teams buying players specifically for one match ie maybe a semi or a final.

But now with the transfer window in operation, this cannot happen. It's time to get rid of the Cup Tied rule from football.

In Europe it's even worse, just because someone played in the EUFA Cup means they cannot play in the Champions League - a totally different competition.

Also in the Champions League, goals scored in the qualifiers do not count on the players' record, yet cautions or sending-offs do.

It's time to put these stupid things right.

I think they've changed it so that if you've played in one UEFA competition but are transferred to a club in another you can play. So if Neill comes he can play.

I think it can only apply to one or two players per club though.

can you play in the uefa cup if you have played in the CL?

afterall, if your teams 'drops' into the uefa cup from the CL you would be eligable...

Doesn't work like that. It goes along the line of you cannot play in European Club Football for two teams in the same season.

How many times ?!

Chapter 8

15.17

From the start of the first knockout round, a club can register three new players - registration must be completed by February 1st.

15.18

One player of the three newly registered players could have played in Europe as long as he didn't play in the same competition.

Yellow cards for kicking the ball away.

Surely it is actually a yellow card for time-wasting and thus should only be a booking if the offender is actually wasting time?

I know by the law Faye should have been booked yesterday, but he was frustrated rather than wasting time (they were 2-0 down)

I thought it was actually a yellow for dissent

One of the biggest anomalies of all which happens many times every game is the one where an offence that is penalised outside of the penalty area, will not be penalised when it happens inside the penalty area (obstruction and placing one's arms over the shoulders of your direct opponent being the most common ways it happens).

The obstruction one is the worst and most annoying. Campo was booked on Saturday for a block in midfield but was allowed to do it in the penalty area to let the ball run out of play.

Totally fecks me off.
