Controlled from start to finish, great patience shown, no panic despite dominating the 1st half but not breaking through.

 

3 great goals, Kuyt was wonderful, hand in 2 goals and scoring one, Crouchy was excellent, great finish and worked his little skinny a*** off.

 

Pennant had a good game, as did Finn as always. We dominated the game in every way basically.

 

Diouf having a s*** game and being subbed was just a bonus. Sami and Carra made Anelka a non entity.

 

We not only outplayed Bolton, we outworked them. We never let them play, they where useless, and the Sky Bolton Propaganda commentary team couldn?t change that fact

 

20 attempts to 1 at goal.

 

And apart from letting Faye off, I actually thought (whisper it), Poll reffed the game pretty well.

 

Superbly controlled display from the Redmen, and a great result.

Stevie G and Xabi set the tone in the first 10 minutes, they showed that we weren't going to be out fought, once that had happened, I always felt that eventually our class would tell.

 

BTW after watching skys build up to the match, you wouldn't even have known we were playing, it was all about Boltons run of good form. makes it all the sweeter after the result.

I for me thought it was good to see Riise do a Bolton on Diouf and Anelka and nailing them to the grass. A well deserved win today.

Kieran - thats why I never watch the build up, i know it'll annoy me I just switch on for kick off and thats taht. Usually I have the commentry off and the crowd noise on, but that function didn't seem to be working for me today, bah! Ah well, even that twunt Darke or whatever he's called (Herpia), couldn't spoil it.

My thoughts:

 

Reina - solid again albeit one slightly dodgy punch

 

Finnan - absolutely impeccable. Should have had two assists and I will only criticise Crouchy's performance today for missing two pretty bloody easy headers from two exquisite crosses from Finny.

 

Carra - bloody ace but not quite as good as...

 

Sami - imperious. 'Nuff said.

 

Riise - played alright. Supported the midfield well. Got beaten a couple of times on the touchline but Bolton's lack of width and enterprise meant that he wasn't really targeted.

 

Pennant - a very good game for him. Was giving Gardner all sorts of trouble, linking well with Finny and Kuyty. Some overhit crosses but involved in the goals and worked hard. Looks more confident now.

 

Gerrard - back to his absolute best. Completely destroyed Bolton out there. Kept it simple when it needed it, drove on at the right times, superb goal from a great team move. Superb performance. Loved his strong header challenge on Gary Speed as an early reducer

 

Alonso - consistently superb Couple of misplaced passes but stood up well to Bolton's harrying and kept the ball moving intelligently.

 

Gonzaléz - not a bad performance. He's a clever player, great in the air and just needs to push onto the full back a bit more and take him on.

 

Kuyty - absolutely fantastic. I was willing him to score and he fully deserved it for his great work in the goals. Hopefully people will stop questioning him now because he's the dog's.

 

Crouchy - great goal and a great way to respond to being out of the team for a while. Needs to work on his heading from 5 yards but other than that, he showed great touch, worked hard and tackled back. Very good performance. All hail the windmill!

 

I hate Bolton and their alehouse footballers. We caned them today and maybe Allardyce can go home and sit in his dark office and w*** over his statistics. 3 f***ING NIL SAMMY. We t****** your lot today by playing football.

Best all around perfromance this season. We bossed it from the off and won every battle. Some fabulous play on the right with Pennant having his best game yet. One of those games you don't want to end.

he sounded as if he had a cold! He did seem a bit tetchy, but I think he was spot on with his answers about the ref! Saying all he asks is the ref do their job, and when he gave Bolton this certain free kick early in the 1st half, that was fine, cos it was a foul! It's all he asks.
