£440,000 Posted December 28, 2006 Author Posted December 28, 2006 This year's Cup Final is in there. JC talking about it.
Guest DanTheDaggerman Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 1966 World Cup final will be #1 for them, I reckon.

Just heard them trying to put in the scum in '68.It finished 4-1 didn't it? Trying to talk Istanbul down already..."Great games can't be decided on penalties" Since when? Think they have even put in England 4-1 v Holland
L19red Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 barry davies just said the 4-3 win over the geordies is not in the top ten
£440,000 Posted December 28, 2006 Author Posted December 28, 2006 He's got Istanbul in there though. It's the first game they've all agreed on.

And England winning the WC is a f*cking big deal. It's been a wonderful programme so far.
Ombudsam Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Mancs 2 Bayern Munich 1 hasn't even made it in yet. Happy Gomez? Paranoid, small-time feckwit.

Ombudsam Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 sutty said: Why has his being annoyed at people degrading Istanbul annoyed you? Were you listening to the programme? Absolutely no one degraded Istanbul whatsoever. They spoke about it with the greatest warmth and it was the first one they all unanimously decided had to go on to the list. Searching for bias against us when it doesn't even come close to existing annoys me. It just reads ridiculously. Now because of what he was saying people like you who didn't listen (because if you had you could never have asked the question you did with a straight face) are just going to be going on about how everyone hates us and I'm going to have to read even more tripe.

Nope, didn't listen. I don't see him mention a pro manc agenda. Or an anti Liverpool one

Guest Canny Farm Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 So which game won? Outrage if it wasn't Istanbul. I bet the mancs are involved somewhere.

H They did praise Istanbul, but they also said great games can't be decided on penalties, so they contradicted themselves.I did not listen to the full programme as I got bored and had other stuff to do, so don't know what actually made it in, however the conversations about the two games I mentioned, 4-1 v holland and the scum v benfica, where cringeworthy at best. They seemed to miss the point about what makes a great game, the 4-3s v the barcodes had little or nothing riding on them other than a few league positions but they were infinitely better games than the FA Cup final v the mancs around the same time. Never said that they had an anti-Liverpool agenda, they'd already had JC on before I posted, they did however have a pro-bullsh*t agenda (and pro-England agenda), they even had a Celtic player on to talk about the Lisbon Lions, and spent the majority of the time talking about a game versus England that he didn't even play in.

I'm surprised that you left out our game v the barcodes in 1997 in favour of one of the 1995 games. Gomez said: They did praise Istanbul, but they also said great games can't be decided on penalties, so they contradicted themselves. The commentator posed the question at the beginning and only one of them (Brooking I think) said "hmmmm possibly". I agree that England 4 Holland 1 should have been nowhere near there. Didn't see Mancs v Benfica (I would have had their game against them at the Stadium Of Light from last year in there), did you? Quote They seemed to miss the point about what makes a great game, the 4-3s v the barcodes had little or nothing riding on them other than a few league positions but they were infinitely better games than the FA Cup final v the mancs around the same time. It's just really subjective isn't it. Otherwise they have to put the likes of Sunderland 4 Charlton 4 in there because that game was unbelievable. There are so many criteria you could use.
