Walrus Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Part 1: Spurs or Newcastle? Part 2: Arsenal or Chelsea?
M4TTA Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 criteria? fan base id say newcastle and arsenal
Walrus Posted December 22, 2006 Author Posted December 22, 2006 I don't want to specify the criteria. It's just this typical "My dad is bigger than your daddy" type of thing that you keep hearing from the supporters. Just wanted to see what people think in general and what kind of criteria they use.
Benitez Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Spurs are the 'bigger' of them two. But, both sets of fans are tosspots and are well suited in tosspottery Arsenal and Chelsea are pretty even. Although Chelsea's image is manufactured in very recent years. I can't say I look at either of them as 'big clubs'.
Sion Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Spurs are the 'bigger' of them two. But, both sets of fans are tosspots and are well suited in tosspottery Never has a truer word been spoken. Spurs probably just bigger, but not nearly as big as their fans think.
John am Rhein Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Part 1: Spurs or Newcastle?Part 2: Arsenal or Chelsea? NewcastleArsenal
Walrus Posted December 22, 2006 Author Posted December 22, 2006 It's quite incredible that some Barcodes and Spurs fans seriously (I think ) think of their clubs as of similar stature as us. If you take out the recent Russian influence out of the picture, could you in fact say that all 4 (Spurs, Newcastle, Arsenal and Chelsea) are all about the same size?
John am Rhein Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 and what kind of criteria they use. Significance in football history
Tosh Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Arsenal are a big club, imo. Have a decent, long term history of success. Spurs are too erratic and have done very little of note for years..... Newcastle are less successful than Chelsea, and that's going some. Football clubs exist to win things. Ergo, Newcastle are not a big club.
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 of course Arsenal are a big club, ridiculous to say otherwise Chelsea are too, now, like it or not - but only since Abramovich bought them Spurs are medium to big Newcastle are not a big club
hideNseek Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Fan base wise it'll be Newcastle and the a***. Fecks me off how some morons seem to think a*** are even close to us.
Spike Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Spurs and Arsenal. Nowt to do with crowds. Cannon and ball were polular too once
hideNseek Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 of course Arsenal are a big club, ridiculous to say otherwise Chelsea are too, now, like it or not - but only since Abramovich bought them Spurs are medium to big Newcastle are not a big club That bulls*** mate. If you go by fan base I'm betting Newcy would kick Spurs a***. Though it doesn't matter as all four put together would still struggle to compete with us.
Romario Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Spurs and Arsenal for me. Both clubs have a heritage and have contributed to English football in a greater way than the others in my mind.
M4TTA Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 for tradition and cup glory / league it would be Arsenal spurs hands down. you cant argue...
Maldini Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Spurs and Arsenal. Both have more fans and more trophies.
Rimbeux Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Fan base wise it'll be Newcastle and the a***. Fecks me off how some morons seem to think a*** are even close to us. Spurs have mre fans than Newcastle, just as we have more than Ctiy Spurs and Arsenal. Both have more fans and more trophies. Aye
Falconhoof Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Spurs and Arsenal. Everton and Man City are bigger than Newcastle and Chelsea.
Ombudsam Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Spurs and Arsenal. That's not to say the other two are insignificant but Spurs and Arsenal have done more of what football clubs are meant to do that the clubs you compared them to
_00_deathscar Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 but Spurs and Arsenal have done more of what football clubs are meant to do But Chelsea brought out the first programme! And were the first with numbers on their shirts! And were the first team not to play in nude but to play in a kit! And....
Stevie H Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Spurs and Arsenal. Everton and Man City are bigger than Newcastle and Chelsea. agree with that.
John am Rhein Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Spurs have mre fans than Newcastle Think you may be wrong there - although not 100% sure
Earl Hafler Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 1 ) Spurs, although it's a little like choosing whether to die drowning or on fire.2 ) Arsenal
