Benitez Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 I dont get the surprise at the fee? What did Atletico pay for Aguero in the summer?
jimmylibel Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 I dont get the surprise at the fee? What did Atletico pay for Aguero in the summer? ?18 million or something like that wasn't it?
Benitez Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 aye you are right, summet like that! Point is - that it's not that unusual for Spanish clubs to pay hefty fees for South American players.

CarraLegend Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Another Redondo type. He's top class. Dont think he'll suit the play they play at all though.
galés rojo Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Another Redondo type. He's top class. Dont think he'll suit the play they play at all though. Gago is your typical high quality defensive midfielder from Argentina, strong in the tackle and an excellent distributor, not dissimilar to Mascherano but a bit quicker. Madrid seem to have gone from one extreme to another with defensive midfielders. They had f*** all in terms of quality in that position, now they have Diarra,Emerson and Gago. Playing two defensive players in the middle hasn't gone down well with their fans so i can see one of Emerson/Diarra leaving already. Emerson is getting on so it should be him, but Capello loves him. Diarra is quality but has had a falling out with Capello in the last week. Imo Capello will leave Madrid in the summer regardless of what they win, and could possibly see him going back to Milan and taking Emerson with him. Milan will definitely be looking for a new manager this summer, while the "cuddly loser" Ancelotti will probably get the Valencia job if Sanchez Flores gets the boot.
Guest Cardie Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Real have picked up three potentially quality young players now (Marcelo, Higuain, Gago) It's not like them.
galés rojo Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 (edited) Real have picked up three potentially quality young players now (Marcelo, Higuain, Gago) It's not like them. Apparently Capello doesn't think Higuain is ready for the first team and should play in the B team, doubt he will though. Edited December 22, 2006 by galés rojo
Guest Cardie Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Yeah can't see them spending that much to chuck him in the reserves. Similar was said about Marcelo.
CarraLegend Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Apparently Capello doesn't think Higuain is ready for the first team and should play in the B team, doubt he will though. I dont think he is either (Not that my opinion is equal to Capello's or anything) but he's very raw still. They'd be better of loaning him to another top flight team for 6months but saying that just 6 months training with Ronaldo etc and a few sub apps would do him good. Gago is ready but I dont think that 4 2 3 1 will suit him in the slightest especially with Guti infront of him, then again it work ok with Insua at Boca so who knows? Like you said earlier I cant see Capello being there next season either.
galés rojo Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 6 months training with Ronaldo can't see that helping anyone tbh
Maldini Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Very good player, plays a bit like Xabi so at least this might curtail the Xabi to Madrid rumours for a while.
Sion Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 (edited) Have Real got enough free non-EU slots to fit both of them in? if not at least one will go to Castilla Edited December 22, 2006 by Sion
CarraLegend Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Have Real got enough free non-EU slots to fit both of them in? if not at least one will go to Castilla Higuain can play for France if he wants to so doesnt take up a space. Not sure about Gago or Marcelo though.
Mad_Fer_It Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 I think Gago has spanish nationality, its either him or Palacios
galés rojo Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I think Gago has spanish nationality, its either him or Palacios Do you mean Palacio? I think its him who's got a passport - quality player too.
madaboutlfc Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Very good player, plays a bit like Xabi so at least this might curtail the Xabi to Madrid rumours for a while.agreed.. his passing is excellent as well..
