Book recommendations

i have just finished my last unread book, a rather decent crime novel by Jeffrey Deaver called "Twelfth Card", and now i'm all out. i'm heading to Waterstones tomorrow after work with a load of book vouchers i found under some old books last week, and need some recommendations from som eof you bookworms. not looking anything to serious at the minute, just some good fiction, as i'm trying to wind down a bit before i start my new job in Januray, and just need maybe 4 or 5 books to take me through til the new year, so any help will be much appreciated. cheers
