Over 50 000 at the game

We're definitely on a post-World Cup high over here. 50 333 people went to see Melbourne Victory draw 0-0 with Sydney FC last night. It's starting to take off at last.

It's a great moment but it's hard to see it lasting, Aussie fans are way too fickle. In Brisbane we've gone from getting between 15 and 20,000 every game to getting 10,000 in the last two matches.

 

Although Melbourne's support does seem to be a lot better than the support up here.

Incredible turnout.

 

The whole thing's a bit manufactured and soulless but it's working well in this city so far.

 

As a South Melbourne man I'm a bit torn between hoping Victory can continue doing what they're doing and resenting our absence from it all.
