I know what you mean, though. UEFA cup was constant drama, whereas Istanbul was 45 mins of despondency.

uefa cup was a ridiculous game. it was like neither side wanted to win it.

That game made me tear my hair out. The number of times we kept throwing the game away...I was clinically insane by the end of the match.

I don't remember exactly why, but the Russian TV started their coverage of the UEFA Cup final in the middle of the first half. Really made me mad

It got me thinking of the similarities with the CL Final/run

 

- Won the Quarter Finals 2-1 on aggregate against the Italian Champions elect

- Won the semi-final 1-0 on aggregate when given no chance

 

- The Final was contested by a clear favourite and an underdog

- First goal was scored very early from a free kick floated in from similar positions.

- The favourites were well ahead at half time

- Gerrard scored

- We scored a penalty

- It was all square at 3-3 very early in the second half

- Liverpool won both games

 

Amazing, was humming Gerard Houllier last night after hearing the chanting at the end of the game, magic.

 

442 is a channel that I flick to second or third after SS1 and SSN, pure gold !
