Andy @ Allerton Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Two penalties awarded for Arsenal - both absolutely shocking Then an even worse penalty awarded for Manchester United - again, absolutely shocking Something needs to be done - this goes on week after week
Berger Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 2 referees is good idea, why was it stopped? The game have to move towards to more officials if FIFA reluctants to rely on technology.
NWR Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Two penalties awarded for Arsenal - both absolutely shocking Then an even worse penalty awarded for Manchester United - again, absolutely shocking Something needs to be done - this goes on week after week I dont agree. Liverpool should have had a penalty against Sheff Utd (JAR) but did not get it. Later they got one for a blatant dive by Gerrard. United have had 2 penalties all season (Both dodgy) ( in the league) yet have had 3 stonewall and several good claim penalties turned down. Its the same for all clubs andf I honestly believe it evens out over the course of the season. One of the main problems is other fans highlight incidents that go the way of teams they dont like, yet thoes same people go very very quiet when those same teams suffer blatant injustices.

Big/Rich clubs got more favourable decisions. How could you explain Mike Riley awarding 12/13 consecutive penalties at Old Trafford? Please count also so this season far how many penalties decisions go your way in home and away games? It surely outnumbered other clubs.

Now you look up the stats for how many penalties United have had over the last couple of seasons compared to other clubs including yours.

Can't wait for that to even out, add to that the two illegal goals and the denied penalty in the derby. That's going to be some match.
Will Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Later they got one for a blatant dive by Gerrard.Dive, my a***
NWR Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Dive, my a*** http://soccerlens.com/diver-gerrard-is-a-h...te/2244513.html Won it five times with a little help from dive my a***. I love the "Extras from Platoon" vid.
Kindred Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 I have to say that whilst I can see both sides of the argument for 'technology' to assist decision making, what could be done almost straight away would be to put another assistant referee on each goal line. Not only would this help in making goal-line decisions but it would give the front view of all penalty box incidents rather than just behind (ref) or from the side (linesman). They would then be able to see all the little pulls & tugs of shirts as well any diving. It could dramatically change the game.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 yeah, 15 yards out, ball at your feet, only a dodgy keeper to beat & you take a dive with the inherent risk that the penno wouldn't be converted (it wasn't). Oh aand the obvious contact... I just don't understand why Gattuso didn't go
DazzlaJ Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 I dont agree. Liverpool should have had a penalty against Sheff Utd (JAR) but did not get it. Later they got one for a blatant dive by Gerrard. You mean the one where he stayed on his feet and had a shot?
Ostrich Man Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Two penalties awarded for Arsenal - both absolutely shocking Then an even worse penalty awarded for Manchester United - again, absolutely shocking Something needs to be done - this goes on week after weekbut andy its because its fixed. Somehow either Man Utd or/and? chelsea have at this moment paid the league/refs? to make sure they win matches.
Internationinteroperability Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Not that much related but how many sending offs did our opponents get against us last season? As far as I remember the number was ridiculously high compared to any other team?
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 how many of those were poor decisions though?
John am Rhein Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 Then an even worse penalty awarded for Manchester United - again, absolutely shocking Not according to the sickening bias of Andy Gray
