Fagan Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 EatSleepSport Dubai Holdings agree Reds deal Sat, Dec 02 2006 11:52 Dubai Holdings has secured a deal in principle to invest in the Reds with Rafa Benitez set to receive significant transfer funds. It is understood a deal was agreed late on Friday evening for the Middle Eastern investors to buy into the club although it is not yet clear if they have secured a controlling interest. Reds' chief executive Rick Parry has been in negotiation with Dubai Holdings for two years and it is understood that the deal will release considerable funds for team strengthening and for the new stadium project. Dubai Holdings, the Middle Eastern state's investment arm, looks to big global projects having recently secured an £800m purchase of Madame Tussaud's and the £675m buyout of Travelodge hotels. They recognise Liverpool's incredible world-wide appeal and are said to be keen to put the club on a level financial footing with the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid
Romario Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 I'd love it to be true. Not getting my hopes up too much but we need finance if we want to compete simple as.
Fagan Posted December 2, 2006 Author Posted December 2, 2006 yeah. i doubt it is. how would that website get such a massive exclusive.

Kite Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Wait till they see the books I agree. Both Fowler's and Gerrard's weren't so hot really, but Hansen's could really get on their t***.
Sion Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 ah eastsleepsport, they're well known as being in the know
Lecter Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 ah eastsleepsport, they're well known as being in the know Maybe I'm wrong on this but the last time we reached a significant stage over investment letters were circulated to the shareholder advising them that this was the case and the club issued a Code 2.10 announcement (which details our shareholding and nominal price) The Code 2.10 happens when a buyer puts the company under an offer period (ie advises them that they intend to make a bid for major proportion of the shareholding) they are given a certain amount of time to finalise the bid then So assuming the above is correct, no letters and no Code 2.10 announcement mean no potential bid
floyd Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Wait till they see the books are you Steve Morgan??
Bailo Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Worst sauce ever but my brother has a Dubain mate who says its being talked about as a done deal over there, announced tomorrow.
chrisbonnie Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Worst sauce ever but my brother has a Dubain mate who says its being talked about as a done deal over there, announced tomorrow. Jim "whiskey nose" Beglin just mentioned during his commentary on our game on irish tv that he expectan announcment during the week, and the board had an emergency meeting last night, so something is going to come out, SOON!!! thats basically what he said, thats not a transcript, so i wont be posting any sauces or links
Guest stevo96 Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 souns like b******s, but that is the best option i feel. if moores does stay in control i'd still really like to see a shake up at board level. get rid of the old, free loading dinosaurs, and bring in some younger, more dynamic business peoople with fresh ideas. we're never going to compete with chelsea financially, but i think we could and should be making a lot more than we are are at the moment.
Nebraska Red Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 we're in the money, maybe we're in the money, maybe

Crazy Horse Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 The soul of the club will be safe in the hands of an Arab investment group.
Guest ritchie_50 Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 If investment is a step nearer then it might explain the performance today, having a part of that. When Benitez signed a new contract last season, we won the next game 5-1 and won every league game after that, after being on a crap run.
Fagan Posted December 2, 2006 Author Posted December 2, 2006 The soul of the club will be safe in the hands of an Arab investment group. the soul of the club is based on winning silverware In an ideal world we'd love to see moore's come into millions or billions, but reality dictates that we are going to have to accept foreign ownership of some sort.
Rimbeux Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 If investment is a step nearer then it might explain the performance today, having a part of that. When Benitez signed a new contract last season, we won the next game 5-1 and won every league game after that, after being on a crap run. We weren't fantastic, we just finished our chances and the keeper saved theirs. Although prob better than Man U, Arsenal and Boro, not much diff to Chelsea, Bolton or Everton
