Favourite Director

Following on from who are your 3 favourite films, who are your favourite directors? Whose films you always or almost always enjoy. Mine would be:

 

1. Sam Mendes

 

2. Michael Mann

 

3. Martin Scorsese

 

I think Mendes is incredibly artistic and very gifted at creating atmosphere, I actually think I'd go to watch a film because he was the director even if I didn't particularly fancy the storyline. Thought Road to Perdition in particular was just brilliantly done, as was American Beauty.
