Guest Cameron Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 From the BBC website 2043: Schoolboy control from James Beattie in the Manchester United box and an Everton chance goes begging. Not the sort of stuff you'd expect from the class jock, more like the nerd who always got picked last for the lunchtime kickabout.
Bootle Buck Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Because it isn't a league anymore. It's almost as bad as Scotland with it's two team league.
sean Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 If we were one of the top 2 I'd be heralding it as the best league in the world. As it's not, it's a s*** league, no question.
jfogarty Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Because it isn't a league anymore. It's almost as bad as Scotland with it's two team league. This time last year and even in the summer some reds were certain that the league was going to be between us and Chelsea. A fair few people wrote the mancs off altogether and I even remember reading that they would struggle to get into the Champions League. Just goes to show what your dealing with around here. Its a 2 team premiership because us and Arsenal are woeful domestically. The mancs really want this title and if they win it ferguscum will of pulled off his biggest achievement ever IMO. Its sad that its a 2 horse race (which Im certain Chelsea will win) but we are a long way away from competing with them which is even sadder

We could - and should - have about 6-8 more points without too much different. We're not the best team in the league, but we're better than we currently look.

Not sure mate.I havent seen us play really well for a full league game this season. We were good in the first half against Villa but most of the time we've been fairly average. Its pretty galling having to watch out for a Chelsea win in November

We're below par, we're not a bad side.
Herbie von Smalls Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 nice to see fulham give arsenal their come-uppance. i know they've got a key european tie next week, but wenger made a number of key changes to the side, presumably reckoning fulham were easy prey. i think it's indicative of the club's arrogance. you only had to watch them defending the boa morte free-kick that crashed off the underside of the bar. not one of their wall jumped, and not only was lehmann flat-footed and rooted to his spot he didn't react to the rebound until after it had gone past him. if fulham's positioning had been better they could've scored a third there. it's like arsenal couldn't countenance the fact that someone like boa morte could score from that position. seven bookings for arsenal too, plus the sending off - doesn't say much for their discipline.
Guest Scot Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I said it last week: Arsenal's problems are a sight more severe than ours.
meepins Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Because it isn't a league anymore. It's almost as bad as Scotland with it's two team league. It's starting to resemble it in terms of quality as well mind.
Guest Portly Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Did anyone hear the Bluenose on 606 saying that Man Utd had been "there for the taking?" Yeah, right.

Wait until a team comes to Anfield and actually goes at us. We have looked somewhat good at home when teams have sat back. Albeit we still struggle to break them down. However, the likes of Gala in the second half showed we get rattled easy too. I can see the top two beating us at Anfield. I said it last week: Arsenal's problems are a sight more severe than ours. Wenger's teams have struggled since Viera left. We would have had major problems too if Gerrard had up and left. He was very key to Arsenal as was the likes of Pires and Bergkamp, all whpo have gone to be replaced by youngsters. Wenger on the other hand has a fantastic nucleus of young talent that is gaining experience every game.
NWR Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Did anyone hear the Bluenose on 606 saying that Man Utd had been "there for the taking?" Yeah, right. I bet he was talking about the team line up when he first saw it. United had most of the play except for a spell after the second goal. Its funny, when I look at our bench I think "Oh my giddy aunty, we are in trouble" But sometimes, Fletcher, JOS and Richardson pull off some good results.

We beat Wigan at the weekend I think we'll come third quite comfortably. Arsenal have a fair few things going on that don't seem wholly comprehendable. Its funny, when I look at our bench I think "Oh my giddy aunty, we are in trouble" But sometimes, Fletcher, JOS and Richardson pull off some good results.Fletcher's a much underrated player. He has a brain and that's fast becoming a good starting point in this league.
Bailo Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I said it last week: Arsenal's problems are a sight more severe than ours.Put Gallas back in that team and you immediately solve half of their problems though. God knows why Wenger rested Fabregas for a half though.
Hulio Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 not one of their wall jumped One rule when in a wall. One rule. Do, not, move.
Herbie von Smalls Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 One rule when in a wall. One rule. Do, not, move. isn't the point of a wall to block the path to goal?
Guest Terkop Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 (edited) O'Shea's deft flick for United's 3rd put him level with Super Bellamy in the premiership scoring ranks. On a more serious note, I think it was a decent win with a very weakened line up, Everton had their fair share of injury/suspensions but had they had the b******s to go at us they could have gotten something. Hulio Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 isn't the point of a wall to block the path to goal? It is indeed. Not deflecting the ball past the keeper. Or giving the ball a clear run without the one in goal being able to spot it. Remember Riise against Chelsea? You need further explanation?
