Superjay Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Saw the team bus this morning we were driving up clive sully way, it was nice of those other cars to accompany them too, although i doubt the team felt fantastic about the abuse being hurled at them.

PhilM Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 Serves him right. Should have stayed at Col U, they were playing good football under him. Having said that, they still are. New stadium looks like it's set to be impressive too, which is good because Layer Road is the worst football ground I've ever been to.
johngibo YPC Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 And now he's been sacked. Apparantly Col U fans were singing"you should have stayed at the big club"

My mate who is an ST at Ipswich couldn't get a ticket for the match there. They have more ST holders than can fit in Layer Road. It's a dump. http://www.yfh45.dial.pipex.com/colchest.htm

SkippyjonJones Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 The club were able to open the layer road end terraces upon promotion back into the league purely on the basis of donations from the crowds which paid for the removal of the wooden terraces. The donations were done by passing a bucket around during the games!! Terrible place for football. Excellent laugh on a Friday night on the barside after 5 or 6 pints to kick the weekend off before the game. I can?t think of any club that needs a new stadium more than them. Most non league places are better than layer road.. Oh and they were only non league for 2 years.

If Colchester Council weren't so f***ing incompetent they would have moved to a new stadium years ago Edited December 10, 2006 by electricjanmolby
PhilM Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 To be fair though. now they've pulled their finger out, it's full steam ahead, it's just a shame that there are now 46 weeks worth of work on the A12 for the new traffic bridge and the sliproad for the new stadium.
