Ronnie Whelan Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Is this not making light of something quite serious?
Cunny Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Is this not making light of something quite serious? it's what we do...
AE Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Is this not making light of something quite serious? Would suggest that it actually may be a good idea. Those two probably need bringing into the fold, so to speak, and by involving the team in this it may help them all. Fair dues to Pardew over this.
Murphman Posted November 29, 2006 Author Posted November 29, 2006 Is this not making light of something quite serious? I think it's a great way of showing him that whilst he may be a good player he can't treat his team mates and manager with such disrespect as he did on saturday BUT making sure he remains in the fold. Great decision for team spirit I'd have thought.
Ronnie Whelan Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Good points. Im sure they will hammer home the seriousness of what he done too. As you say Murph, he cant just throw a strop and expect to be able to walk away from his manager and team mates.

As you say Murph, he cant just throw a strop and expect to be able to walk away from his manager and team mates. I had this the other day with a 15 year old. Reckons he's leaving the club 'cos I confiscated a family size Galaxy during training. What really pissed him off was instead of giving it him back after training I handed it out to the squad, they were like a plague of locusts. He gave me an ultimatum via my son on MSN, buy me a BIG Galaxy AND a new mobile or he's leaving. My reply was 'Catherine Tate'. He's took so much stick off the lads over it, they've really took the piss out of hime, he's now seen the funny side. I know it's a different level but sometimes you have to manage things 'differently'. I'll buy him his chocolate this week.

This whole scenario is quite like a story a Maths teacher used to tell us in secondary school: There were two bulls standing on top of a grassy hill, a father bull and a young bull. The young bulll said, "i have a great idea, lets run down there and ride one of those cows". The father said, "No, son, we will walk down there and ride every one of them". I am a bit more like the young bull in this, fine that b*****d straight away, and probably end up not being satisifed, whereas Murph is the wise old bull, who takes his time and does things right.

A 'wise old bull', f*ck me I've been called a few things in my time but that's a new one.

Kahnee Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Can't seem to open the page here at work - could someone post the story for me? I'd ask the wise old bull, but he's all hooves when it comes to technology

I'd ask the wise old bull, but he's all hooves when it comes to technology Argentinian striker Carlos Tevez has been ordered to wear a Brazil shirt in training by his team-mates as punishment for his walk-out at the weekend. The 22-year-old left Upton Park in a fit of pique last Saturday after being substituted against Sheffield United, but Hammers boss Alan Pardew decided Tevez's team-mates would be allowed to decide what punishment he should face. They plumped for a fine of £1,000 to be paid to charity and it is reported that they also insisted that the player should wear the national team shirt of Argentina's bitter rivals. Tevez, who left Brazilian club Corinthians to join the Hammers in a shock transfer in late August, has yet to score in eight league appearances.
CarraLegend Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Doubt that'll go down to well in Argentina even if it is a little joke.

Kahnee Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I know of no animal, bovine or equine mad cow diseased or sane, daft enough to go anywhere near you you feckin murderer. Stop clinging to the past, Grandad. That was 2005 Oh, and cheers Ronnie
Murphman Posted November 29, 2006 Author Posted November 29, 2006 Stop clinging to the past, Grandad. That was 2005 Reggie Kray did Jack the Hat in 1966. Didn't let him out though did they?
anfield Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 That story was great until you decided to buy the little fecer his chocolate.......
Kahnee Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Reggie Kray did Jack the Hat in 1966. Didn't let him out though did they? That'll be because Reggie actually did Mr Hat in. Had Reggie happened to back him with a few quid the day he unfortunately died, I suspect the courts may have taken a different view
jfogarty Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Make Pardew wear a Germany top for being a w***** and a s*** manager. Pardew is not a s*** manager
