Becoming a Real Estate professional in New York

Was treated to a sales pitch for the career t'other day from a man who swore blind that it was both easy and rewarding.

 

Anyone able to help with details, such as which qualifications are needed, how long it takes to get them and how nice and friendly your fellow professionals would be?

 

Lets just say that I was skeptical and wondered if reality matched the realtor's picture...
