It amazes me that there are people who slag off players that are clearly among the absolute best in the world because there has been a big game they didn't star in.

 

If Ronaldinho and Henry are overrated because they aren't big game players, can anyone tell me: Who are these big game players who are better?

so-called big game players are often the unsung ones. defenders and goalkeepers who perform consistently in the big matches rarely get the credit, and 'big-game player' seems to have become a euphemism for a forward who scores in the matches against other top teams.

its not necessarily about control always. midfielders are always likely to control the game because the nature of their position.

 

However, these players perform in the big games. The fa cup final, how many chances did Henry have? how many did owen have? yet who scored from them?

To be fair that was just ridiculous ... one goal disallowed, cleared off the line, and three fantastic saves by a possessed goalkeeper + 1 weak penalty.
