Guest Joaquin Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 TLW's Dave Usher reckons Adam Hammill would already be playing for the first team if his attitude is as good as Paul Anderson. From what I've seen, I believe Hammill is better than Anderson and is probably the best bet to be the next big thing out of the Academy. But what about the poor attitude thing? Anyone know anything about this?
_00_deathscar Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Can't remember when it was but he threw a strop once when subbed off. The FA Youth final?
Alonso Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Can't remember when it was but he threw a strop once when subbed off. The FA Youth final? It was certainly in a home game last season and Gerrard, Rafa etc were all watching and weren't overly impressed as you could imagine!
Maldini Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Not sure it's a stroppy attitude that's the problem, more that he trys to do it all himself, a selfish attitude. From what I've seen of him though, he's incredibly talented. He just needs to become more consistent.

Guest Joaquin Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 He's been likened to Ronaldo at MU and from what you've described there's some more evidence! I feel that young players should be given more 'creativity room' to express themselves. How many English players are confident enough to do stepovers under pressure? Matt Jansen used to do it, try to beat players with skill and was a constant menace with his element of surprise and was then told to "play for the team" by his manager (forgot who). From a very good prospect, he's now a 'past it' player. Sad. Young players should be able to express themselves and then as they get older, be told what they are doing wrong.Ronaldo used to overdo it (and still does sometimes) but much as we all hate to admit it, he's becoming a world-class player soon.
Boca Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 I think it was the semi final of the Youth cup last season when he threw a strop after being substituted.

What I meant was his career was going downhill from the time that particular manager (was it Souness?) ********* his progress. He just didn't look as threatening as before.
Benitez Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 I think it was the semi final of the Youth cup last season when he threw a strop after being substituted. Final, 2nd leg at CoMS I fink was when he went stomping off down the tunnel. He did come back out after to celebrate though! Seem to recall reading (maybe Elisha here?), that Rafa and the players where watching the game at their hotel ahead of the FA Cup semi the day after. And Rafa was none to impressed, not suprisingly.
Clay Davis Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 *insert what i say every time about adam here*

Guest BrianF Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 I think Rafa is a bit wary of just throwing the kids in, probably because of the stick he recieved in his first season, and prefers to exhaust his senior player options. But If he's good enough he'll get his chance eventually.

But If he's good enough he'll get his chance eventually. Rafa doesn't stop doing things cos of a bit of stick. The reason he used a fair few younger players that season, was cos he wanted to see the standard of player available to him in the reserves. And that was the best way of finding out. Safe to say he wasn't impressed, cos none of them are here now. Now he knows the standard of the players available. I'm sure that any good enough will get a chance as you say. Lee Peltier hasn't done himself no harm recently with his cup performances. And hopefully he'll get another chance in the last CL group game at least, if not v's Arsenal in the League Cup.

Have a word with yourself! He's a decent winger, no more, no less, but light years from world class
Stevie H Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Ronaldo becoming a world-class player?? Have a word with yourself! He's a decent winger, no more, no less, but light years from world classof course he is. if he takes his head out of his a*** and becomes more of a team player he could be the best in the world in two or three years.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Needs to have a lot more end product before he can be that. Has the potential though.
Mikey Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Ronaldo becoming a world-class player?? Have a word with yourself! He's a decent winger, no more, no less, but light years from world classYou're having a laugh mate, Ronaldo is already one of the best wingers in the world and what is he 21?
Hodgson for Chelsea Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Ronaldo becoming a world-class player?? Have a word with yourself! He's a decent winger, no more, no less, but light years from world class Now that he has adjusted to life in the premier league he is really stepping it up a level. That c*** Ferguson's son (who is also a c***) said he'd make their best 11 ever along with Ronaldo.
Guest BrianF Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Still very inconsistant and cares more about his tan than his end product.
Leo No.8 Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Ronaldo becoming a world-class player?? Have a word with yourself! He's a decent winger, no more, no less, but light years from world class Certainly not as good as your hero Fowler eh Poolfrog? Seriously though, Ronaldo is absolutely superb. Shame we didn't get him, which wasn't a million miles away until United stepped in with their silly money...
johngibo YPC Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 (edited) Still very inconsistant and cares more about his tan than his end product. b******s, he's brilliant. All the 'our players are great, their players are s***' stuff is embarrasing Edited November 24, 2006 by johngibo YPC

His career started going downhill after his accident, it was fine before it and he was on the fringes of the England squad. It has little or nothing to do with his talent being suppressed and everything to do with the accident.
D.Boon Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 I make no excuses that my opinion of Ronaldo as a footballer is clouded by the fact that you would have to go a long way to find a more slimy odious, ugly, pony looking c*** kicking a football anywhere on this planet. Overrated

Yep, he was a good player, think he was called up to the England squad before the World Cup sometime but cant remember if he played any part or not.
