I thought he made a massive contribtion to our attacking flow last night. He does the little things that all teams require in order to break stubborn defences. With Gonzalez out for the next few weeks I think Luis should start out wide as we are going to facing several stubborn defences over the next few weeks.

Thought he was awful last night. I wish he'd just give a simple pass every now and again. There was so many times near the end last night when he could have slipped in Bellamy or Kuyt and he chose to take an extra touch, and then would fall over over or run into players and lose posession.

Saying that...he's the best we've got for that left side at the moment.

He looked like was lacking a bit of match sharpness last night but he does bring that bit of something extra that you need to break teams down. Good cross for Kuyt and a couple of other things were nice. He'll play on the weekend on one of the wings.

Think his flair and confidence on the ball in the final third make him so important to us. He was very effective last night.

11 goals in his last 17 Champions League games. That would be a sensational scoring ratio for a striker let alone a midfielder, so I'd say case closed when it comes to his European contribution.

He has looked very sharp at times this season as well, and I think we'll see good things from him in the run of games he's bound to get with our recent injuries. Last night he gave it away a few times I'd agree, but that said his cross which led to the second goal was absolutely superb.

give him a break, he wasn't fit. He wouldn't have played more than half an hour had we not had them injuries.

And he wasn't awful anyway, he played ok.

We're at our most dangerous with Luis and Crouch on the park.

Definitely. The Danish commentators remarked in the first half how we had all the play, yet it was difficult to see who was going to create the chances or provide that moment of brilliance to carve them up apart from Gerrard. Garcia is that kind of player. He creates chances.

I like him, but he creates chances for both teams on the field...

I won't deny that's there's been times when I want to strangle him, but I think his giving away of the ball is overplayed a bit. SG does it just as much. LG's problem is that sometimes he'll do it with an outrageous flick so it really sticks out more than a misplaced pass.

Garcia is arguably the most creative player in the team and certainly the most unpredictable. I'd have him in the team more often than not. I think we play better offensively with him in there - even when he's not firing on all cylinders.

I'd be amazed if Gerrard doesn't end every season as the player with comfortably the most assists.

For me, the best thing Garcia brings to the side is his movement off the ball, rather than his passing.

I wouldn't disagree with that and my choice of words probably wasn't the best to describe what I'm on about. I do feel, however, that we play much better offensively and look much more dangerous when Garcia is in the team.

Whether it's from direct actions like scoring or setting one up, or indirectly with his runs and movement, I think he contributes as much as anyone in the attacking positions.

Myth. He rarely ever gives it away in dangerous positions anymore. It's almost always when taking on a full back or playing a through ball that he gives the ball away. I can live with that, because it's a 50/50 thing, if it comes off we have a shot on goal.

He did it the other day trying something silly 10 yards outside his own penalty area and the same against Bordeaux, the Bordeaux one was horrible, he looked up, see their player in the way and tried the pass anyway resulting in a 5 yard pass straight to their player. I agree it is a bit of a myth that he does it all the time though but he definitely does it a few times in idiotic positions. That said he is absolute class and should be starting every game for us at the moment. I just hope he's 100% for tomorrow because despite their woeful away record (Sound familiar?) I've got a feeling these might be tough to break down.

Completely. His game is played on the shoulders of last line defenders, if the ball/flick comes off we are generally through on goal and IMO thats what we have been missing, you dont need to look any further than last sunday to see evidence of that.

aye he did trying to take someone on just outside the box, got tackled then hacked them leading to a dangerous free kick for them.

but there's not a player in our squad that doesn't do that at sometime or other. to read some where garcia is concerned, you'd think he was the only liverpool player ever to squader posession.

It's no use glossing over it, his decision making at times is atrocious.

I love flair players and realise that you have to allow them to try different things, but there are plenty of creative, skillful players out there who are less sloppy and use the ball a lot better.
