You could see Pepes confidence when he took on the attacker and was always looking for that early pass/throw.

Loved the way he dummied the attacker on that back pass and calmly played the ball out to one of the defenders. Such a cool head and shows he's got his confidence back. He had an air about him last night and dominated his area well with some good claims and punches.

 

I also love the way that when he knows an attacker is off side yet they still shoot he just makes and nonchalant save as if saying "Whatever!". He did that last night where he just put his right arm up and made the save!

I think people just blew it out of all proportion to be honest. He's an aggressive keeper, sometimes that aggression can make him look careless.

nah mate, at times this seasons he has been jittery............its a confidence thing...

 

the difference last night was the two times he came out of the box to clear his lines (one header and one punch) nothing was getting in his way...two months ago he would have misconnetcted with the pumch

I must have missed that one (and a quick search on the offish didn't turn up much), what was it Rafa said?

I think it was to an extent. Problem is though, goalies always will have more of the spotlight on mistakes than others. Also, cos the defence in front of him can't have been doing his confidence much good for a while, it's like a vicious circle, cos then they would be affected by him lacking in confidence!

 

Anyway, it looks like they are getting back on track now.

I must have missed that one (and a quick search on the offish didn't turn up much), what was it Rafa said?

 

Nothing much just that he'll need ten games to find top form like everyone else does, we've given Kirkland and Dudek runs in the team after mistakes and Pepe will be the same etc etc. The media then went on the "He's got 10 games or he's out of the team" bandgwagon.
