Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 the Mancs won't lose to Benfica at home and will therefore qualify for the last 16, where they'll get a piss-easy draw. So, they're a shoo-in for the last 8. Although, they'll still be bricking it ahead of game 6, so at least that's to enjoy
ManxRed Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 But what if they miss their inevitable penalties and free kicks and Benfica somehow manage to score a goal that isn't disallowed by the referee. It MIGHT happen....
Guest Jude Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 We thought we wouldnt get beat by Benfica at home last year and look what happened. Come on Simoa, just do it.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted November 22, 2006 Author Posted November 22, 2006 for sure. It'd be hilarious for them to win their first 3, be all-but through, lose their next 3 & go out on 9 points. Esp when it's probable that in another group someone'll qualify on 8 (without looking at the groups & doing the mathS)
Ostrich Man Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 if our final third play is anything like last nights, we'll be f***ed. though hopefully we'll be OK.
AE Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Mancs are playing well and have their tails up.They would need a couple of injuries and defeats to shake them.Unfirtunately they WILL qualify and they WILL be up there in the league this season. (Mockers....please, please, please.........)
Andy @ Allerton Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 They will swan past Benfica like they waltzed past Southend, Celtic and Copenhagen
Guest Anders Honoré Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 It would be great to see Benfica knock them out again.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 (edited) the majority would laugh. Edited November 22, 2006 by Anders Honoré
Des Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 They'll sail through on the night. Will be fun watching them sh*tting themselves between now and then though.
Barnesy_10 Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 at least if they came 3rd it will be an improvement on last year... oh, and UEFA cup footy to look forward to!
Coyler Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Outside of the splendid gloating, did anyone think that Ferguson's explanation of, "we're Manchester United, we always do it the hard way" isn't good enough, or shouldn't be? United fan I know is thoroughly unimpressed with that and says he said the same this time last year.
Bootle Buck Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 It seems like the Mancs have struggled at home in the CL the last few years. Normally they are a shoe-in for a win.

NWR Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 They'll sail through on the night. Will be fun watching them sh*tting themselves between now and then though. ??? Who exactly? Only in your mind
Coyler Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 play your best team in their best positions...That team should have had no problems, Celtic were muck in the first half. Should have been over by half-time (or at least 'Istanbul over'). Were you watching on The RTÉaay by any chance?
Ostrich Man Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Were you watching on The RTÉaay by any chance?yep
Extraordinary Swindle Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 for sure. It'd be hilarious for them to win their first 3, be all-but through, lose their next 3 & go out on 9 points. Esp when it's probable that in another group someone'll qualify on 8 (without looking at the groups & doing the mathS)Lille/AEK could go through with 7 points.
Andy @ Allerton Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 we probably give you a semi. If you played us in the Champions League - we could get the Cup and show it to your fans - have to charge them £5 each, mind
