CarraLegend Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Good player aswell http://www.sportinglife.com/football/overs...mp;TEAMHD=spain Valencia midfielder Edu has been ruled out of action for at least six months after picking up a knee injury in his side's 3-0 defeat at Sevilla on Saturday. The 28-year-old Brazilian was inconsolable as he was carried off on a stretcher late on in the Primera Liga encounter at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, after over-stretching and landing heavily on his leg. Test results have now confirmed the former Arsenal star has torn the cruciate ligament in his right knee and faces surgery and a lengthy spell on the sidelines. "It is estimated the period of recuperation after the operation will be approximately six to seven months," read a statement on the club's website, www.valenciacf.es. The injury is yet another savage blow to both Edu and Valencia, the player having missed seven months last year with ligament damage in his other knee. Valencia already have a host of injury problems - with Asier Del Horno, Carlos Marchena, David Albelda, Jaime Gavilan, Mario Reguiero and Emiliano Moretti all sidelined.
Ronnie Whelan Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Quality player alright. Does he have an unusual tackling technique or is he just very unlucky?
Guest ritchie_50 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 That's crazy. About 20 players in Spain are out for 6 months with knee injuries.
Benitez Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Quality player alright. Does he have an unusual tackling technique or is he just very unlucky? Some Valencia fans who haven't been so impressed with him, and have wanted Viana to get a run, so now they get their wish. this injury, seemed more unlucky than bad technique from what I recall!
