Guest redfromtubebar Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 From the Guardian. 'David Beckham's troubled relationship with Real Madrid appeared to be facing further strain last night after he flew to Italy for the wedding of the actor Tom Cruise against the wishes of his club coach, Fabio Capello. The former England captain and his wife Victoria flew in to Rome's Ciampino airport yesterday for today's celebrity wedding as back in Madrid Capello was insisting he should stay in Spain for treatment on an injured knee. "David is injured. He has to stay in Madrid and work," said the Real Madrid head coach. When asked whether that would mean that Beckham would have to miss the wedding of Cruise and Katie Holmes at a castle near Rome, Capello replied: "That's not my problem."Beckham, whose Real Madrid contract runs out at the end of this season, has yet to respond to the offer of a two-year extension and is free to negotiate with other clubs from January 1. Since Capello's arrival this summer Beckham has been unable to command a regular place in the Madrid starting line-up. Last month he admitted he was unhappy and said he would have to consider his future if he found himself permanently on the bench.' You would think that by now a few people would have had a word with him and told him what it means to be a professional footballer. Ah well, as long as theres enough pictures taken of him and his wife then he'll be happy. Thank god he's out of the England team.

I'm really pissed off with all this, if the Beckhams couldn't make then I was on standby
Cooldude Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Not the first time he's done something like this, just ask Fergie when Beckham was still at Man Utd

Benzo-13 Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 In the week that Puskas died he couldn't have made a bigger idiot of himself. A blight on the game, a shambolic over-rated pony player.
Tosh Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 C'mon.... he cn name his price at a number of clubs (Newcastle....) and get his image rights back to make even more money He will likely move on a free so what if he does pee off his current employers. Compared to some of the galacticos over the past few years, he's been a picture of discipline and sobriety... Sure, he's harldy in the spirit of Puskas. But are you surprised by that? After all, he plays for the club who screwed Puskas out of a large slice of his testimonial cash.

Internationinteroperability Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Real has a history of scewing their employees. Remember Del Bosque (and Macca)? If Becks manages to piss off Real then great!

slapnuts Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 he wore a £600 cardie from YSL. last seasons. what a tramp.
growler Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 beckham to newcastle is pretty much done I would have thought. Like Owen, its a trophy signing of a player who doesn't care about playing anymore, just 'where is my paycheck?' You see, if he goes to spurs, or hammers in london, he will actually have to play well. This way, him and and owen can enjoy early retirement together during the day, and go back home to their families by noon. job done.
cymrococh Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Entirely agree. Football would be a lot better off if it wasn't for David Beckham and his media whore wife.Don't see what he has to do with football.
