A fella i work with tells me he's been watching the reds since the early 60's. I asked him for his opinion of what's happening now. He told me he would prefer to keep his opinions to himself for fear of more abuse.

I told him i wasn't about to abuse him, go on tell me, i can take it.

It seems that he had voiced his opinions to some other lads, and they had come out with the usual "You don't go the game, so F**k off"

I found this very sad, yes he did have strong opinions about the team, and a certain chilien winger, dutch midfielder, and england centre forward not being good enough to wear the shirt, the manager, and why we need stevie more than we need rafa

Just didn't think he deserved the abuse, he's entitled to an opinion.

Is this what we have sunk to

everyone's entitled to an opinion, yes. equally people are entitled to hold the opinion that certain other individuals' opinions are total bolllocks.

assuming you haven't just invented the above, btw.

So you're telling me someone who obviously went to the match in the 60s and 70s prefers to keep his opinions to himself for fear of being told to eff off?

Pardon my skepticism...

If he thinks Crouch is crap, he obviously hasn't learned anything about football since the 1960's, so he bloody well should f*** off. :)

So he says we don't need Rafa, plus slated a promising young winger who hasn't been in England five minutes and our top scorer this season (I'll give him Zenden).

If you thought that was sad, this will be positively tragic:

He sounds like a total c*nt to me.

Can I make arrangements to give £5 per month to him by direct debit?

It may not seem a lot, but your donation will go towards paying for pyschiatric coaching, which will one day help old bloke gain enough confidence to sneak back into the pub and start criticising the manager and selected players again.

Who knows, in time he may even be able to return to the stands and mutter abuse under his breath, although sadly he's damaged goods now and will probably never again jump out of his seat to scream at Garcia and call him an ' effing sh*thouse little Spanish c*nt'.

There are many more heart-breaking stories like this, so please give generously or at least give what you can. Your money will mean we'll never stop being reminded just how sh*t Liverpool teams are now compared to the glory days, and that is something we'd all miss desperately...
