Murphman Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 This from one of my oldest friends, a Chelsea season ticket holder since he started going with his dad aged 10, 41 years ago. He's a level headed fella and a realist, he knows the bubble could burst but after years of pain he's determined to enjoy it whilst it lasts having endured decades of shyte. He's quite a wealthy lad and a good job too, more of that in a mo. Firstly the good news. he reckons Chelsea ahave been poor for six months but they are definitely back big style. He reckons they'll win the league again. I put quite a lot of store in what he says as he knows his football and he's not a big gob just spouting off, much as I hate Chelsea I'd sooner they got no.4 than the mancs get no. 16. Secondly the good news. Whilst some may envy Chelsea fans their back to back championships they pay through the nose for the privelige of watching them. So my mate has two tickets in their equivalent of the centenary stand package where you get into the Shankly suite for a pint get a free programme and a pie and a pint if you want one. two tickets at anfield will cost you £3500. How much does he pay at chelsea for him and his son? Is it. £7200.£7200 or £7200. !!!!! F*ck it I'd sooner come fourth.

One thing that gets to me is whenever a Chelsea fan phones up 606 or the other program, they always start off by saying "I have been a Chelsea season ticket holder for 20 years. Jesus, they must have been packing in 50,000+ for the last 20 years.
Murphman Posted November 13, 2006 Author Posted November 13, 2006 All my Chelsea mates are old feckers like me, they spent plenty of years in the doldrums whilst i had a permanent smirk on my face, I don't begrudge them their time in the sun, they all wished me well (through griitted teeth) the weekend before I went to Istanbul (We were watching the cup final around a mate's house) even though we'd just knocked them out. None of my manc mates did that (Added for effect, I don't actually have any manc mates ). I don't listen to phone ins 'cos they just piss me off, muppets of all shades and sizes.
jfogarty Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Didnt really want to post this but I may aswell put my neck on the line - I want them to win every game they play in the league for the rest of the season (except the one at Anfield of course). The mancs are back out in force and I think they've managed to become worse after spending 2 years in hibernation. I wouldnt mind but Im not the kind to rub peoples nose in it when we are doing well but the mancs Im meeting lately are taking liberties. They really hate us and Id take that tart maureens gang over them everyday of the week.
