I said this last season and today showed why I dont think we will not win the league.. Our 2 centreback are agricultural at best with the ball.. check out the centrebacks who play for the other top 4 sides.. how many of them hoof the ball.. Its a joke that our last great centrebacks who were good on the ball were in the 80s.. Im sick of all the hoof it we play..

Didn't think JC was to blame today. He (and Finnan did OK) Carra made one feck up, letting Adebayor through one on one, but Reina (and also Riise) got him out of it.

 

Zenden was at fault for the first one (and possibly the third - though Riise and Gerrard had different views) Reina let the second through his legs.

you cant blame Reina for the second.. the defending was embarassing.. giving the ball away was the reason why we lost

your problem is the midfield though. That your defenders have limitations is true, they are however under CONSTANT pressure as they have no support from midefield, you are bound to f*** up sooner or later under those circumstanses. Your midfield / strikers are poor at retaining possession.

Why the feck is it up to these two to distribute every ball forward. Because our FB's and Midfeilders have no pace, skill or confidence to take the ball forward so it ends up going back to carra and Hyypia.

 

We are the only team that seems to go buy youngsters but never give them a chance.

Hyypia is another year older and it shows and this isn't a knee jerk from today's game. You're guaranteed at least one howler from Sami every game now and thats not to mention his distribution. Agger must start from now on.

That sums it up................... We rarely score goals were our midfield puts a great through pass to a forward. More of our goals come from punt and hope.

you say this and yet you think the problem is your defenders. does it not give a slight indication that something is seriously fecked up when most of your goals comes from your two central defenders kicking the ball up. They are there to defend, now they need to do that and be the creatives ones in addition to that.
