We haven't shown it in any of our away defeats this season. We go behind and ncontinue to pass the ball along the back four then aimlessly loft it forward. We have no drive from midfield and our full backs are s*** scared to venture past the half way line. Right now we are only capable of beating lesser teams who sit back against us(mainly at home). If anyone attacks us we are there for the taking. It doesn't matter who play where if yyou don't have the heart, desire and confidence to WIN.

We're under instructions to be f***ing rubbish. Nothing else can explain the lack of effort, heart and drive. I've seen more intensity from a wet lettuce.

Everton

Chelsea

Bolton

Man Utd

Arsenal

We gave up without the slightest bit of fight or character. It just isn't good enough or tolerable.

Rafa sitting, taking notes and making substitutions way too late doesn't help.

We need Agger in the team asap! His distribution would make a huge difference and give Alonso more space. Hyypiä just isnt good enough and I still cant figure out why Benitez picks him ahead of Agger? Atm Agger's our best CB.

Totally agree we are so ponderous, slow and lethargic at times it hurts. We are the footballing equivalent of drying paint.

There is no fight in the team. Bar Momo.

They are content to lay down and get their bellies tickled.

The first 40 minutes of the game wasn't about fight, it was about urgency, dynamism, pace and quick thinking. We have virtually none of it away from home. Gerrard is the only one in the squad who seems capable of doing that, Momo to a less refined extent. And when they don't perform the team is extremely flat. Maybe Pennant, Bellamy and Gonzalez will come good but it's only a hope at the moment rather than expectation.

Hopefully Hyypia getting subbed is the start of an extended run in the side for Agger.

But it is going to take a lot more than switching a CB to turn this s**** run around.

Sami and Agger is less of a natural combination than Carra/Agger but it has to be said Carragher is currently a liability in our defence at the moment and a long way away from the form he showed in the run upto Istanbul and about 12 months after that.

I don't post that often but feel as if i have to say something about our performances this season. I have been watching Liverpool for just over 45 years now

and I have to say that some of the gutless and spineless performances that they have put on this season especially away from home have been nothing short of disgraceful and an insult to the great name and tradition of this great club.

I would like to be optimistic about our next away game but how can I be? We have, in my opinion, some players who do NOT seem to realize what it is to put on the famous red shirt of our great club, and give 110%when they go out onto the pitch.

And until some of these cowards in red shirts stand up and be counted and realize what it means to play for this great club insted of hiding when we go a goal down THINGS WILL NOT CHANGE!

Good post mate! I would also add that at home we have also looked succeptible against anyone who comes at us. We can beat the teams who sit back and let us play but when anyone comes at us we start floundering. We let easy leads against Gala and Reading slip away when they came back at us. I think Rafa's game plan is too cautious and slow.

Agree. It's sooooo depressing to watch us when we play like this. Give me Tommy Smith rejuvenated any day. The only thing we are really good at at the moment are playing support balls, and that breaks up any flow or movement we might have created.

Am I the only one that thinks Agger is poor in the air. Always seems to be pushing his man in the back. Carra and Agger would leave us exposed to any high balls. I know Agger is very composed and fast but he lacks that aerial ability.

You can pick faults in every partnership though, Agger deserves to be playing at the minute for me, who with is hard as neither Carra or Sami are playing great but i'd play Carra as it can be a more long term partnership.

Hyypia and Carra were meant to be better suited to long balls at Bolton and we conceded 2, one of which was off a cross.

Our fullbacks' lack of pace (Riise is not that quick either) always means we're prone to getting caught out should they venture forward in support. In away games this season, this has been a particularly sore point, as it all adds up to a lack of movement at the team's expense. Even when instructed not to venture further than the halfway line, they get skinned almost at will by anyone with a fair bit of pace. Which leaves the centrehalves vulnerable as they too have negligible recovery pace, which is important when their form has gone awry and their positioning is not at their most immaculate.

confidence is shot to f*** away from home. soon as we go a goal behind the heads go down and we never look like getting back into a game. more worrying is six away matches and just one goal, that a dodgy penalty at bramhall lane.
