Guest redfromtubebar Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Had a mate text me to say that the word up in Geordieland is that Cassano is swapping the Bernabeau for St James Park come January. Don't know whether its a loan or permanent deal. Would be a very good signing for them but I have to wonder why exactly he would entertain thoughts of moving there?
Raj Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Are you sure it would be a good thing? He has a very bad reputation for causing trouble and has hardly been playing for Madrid.
CarraLegend Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 (edited) Often injured, when fit he's never actually properly fit, has a woeful goalscoring record, a s*** attitude and has spots. If Capello and Spaletti cant sort him im not to sure what the mighty Glenn Roeder will do. He's the perfect Newcastle signing really. Edited November 9, 2006 by CarraLegend
hagi_complex Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 He looked good when he first burst on to the scene, but he's not fulfilled his potential and seems to have a major attitude problem. It's all set for Newcastle to spend £10m+ on him, so.
Red_Rob Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Duff and Cassano in the same season? That nearly makes up for never winning anything ever. Still at least they'll get another day out.
Guatered Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 wa-hey, time to get the tops off lads and go down to st james to celebrate! actually, i'm sort of torn on what to feel about newcastle. on the one hand their supporters do deserve credit for their loyalty and definitely deserve a better team. on the other hand i think of freddie shepard and that makes it all rather funny again
jimmylibel Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 wa-hey, time to get the tops off lads and go down to st james to celebrate! actually, i'm sort of torn on what to feel about newcastle. on the one hand their supporters do deserve credit for their loyalty and definitely deserve a better team. on the other hand i think of freddie shepard and that makes it all rather funny again Wow did you pick the wrong forum for that one
floyd Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 (edited) Fat Freddie will no doubt word the speech on his arrival, towards how they have a good working relationship with Real Madrid. And Madrid will think privately, that'll just about make up for fvckin us over with Woodgate. crisps Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 fat, over-rated, over-priced, injury prone and a BiG NaMe!!! Ticks all the NUFC boxes
AE Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 (edited) What a ****ing joke that club are.One day the press will wake up and actually realise. "Everybodys second favourite team" my a*** Edited November 10, 2006 by AE
Leo No.8 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 As has been said - perfect Newcastle signing. He hasn't given a f*ck at either Madrid or Roma, so the chances of him doing so at Newcastle are what I would politely call extremely slim. The highlight of his Newcastle career would be doing the obligatory keepy-ups in front of 20,000 thickos who have presumably taken half a day's holiday to head down to St James' Park and cheer him moronically. It's embarrassing - we wouldn't do that if we signed f*cking Ronaldinho. After the keepy-ups, all downhill...
Bald Devil Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 wa-hey, time to get the tops off lads and go down to st james to celebrate! actually, i'm sort of torn on what to feel about newcastle. on the one hand their supporters do deserve credit for their loyalty and definitely deserve a better team. More than 20,000 empty seats vs Fenerbahce and over 25,000 who stayed at home vs Portsmouth in the League Cup suggest that the part-time pricks get all they deserve.
MarkD Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Fat Fred's media conference; Freddie -"We got the lad Cassano after beating off top European competiton for his signature. It proves we are a top European club. He will fight for his spot with the likes of Luque, Martins and Shola and will help our push for the Inter Toto spot that this club rightfully deserves. It also shows our faith in the great job Glenn and his staff are doing". Sky Reporter - "25,000 Geordies are here to welcome Cassano in a show of loyalty to the club and are giving him a right Geordie welcome. I can hear them singing his name as I speak" Crowd - "One Nobby Solano, there's only one Nobby Solano". Plus ca change.
Superjay Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Cassano loves pies. Newcastle love crap footballers. Perfect marraige
smithdown Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Just shows that Newcastle are a biggerer club than Real Madrid, with betterer fans and a betterer stadium and that. Oh yes. Why, for a bag of Tudor Crisps, I'd climb a foo'in mountain, man.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 it's incredible really that a club can be such a cliché that everyone can agree he is a classic newcastle signing.
Bootle Buck Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 For feck's sake we don't need to see anymore of this
sexton_hardcastle Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 (edited) Why is that image linked from the National Geographic? Were they doing some documentary into the lives of the average barcode when a new signing comes along. Next you know they will have a show on thier sucess over teh years. On the History channel. Edited November 11, 2006 by sexton_hardcastle
Hector McDougal Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Cassano is a very talented player but has the mentality of a 10 year old. He would be a disasterous signing for newcastle, much worse than Luque.
