DJM Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 (edited) How does he do it? Firstly the boy Stokes at Falkirk then the 3 Brum lads last night. The last one that came on (forget his name) came over here to play for Arsenal from the Congo when he was 14 according to the commentator last night (not Kamara). He must have the largest scouting network on earth Edited November 9, 2006 by DJM
DJM Posted November 9, 2006 Author Posted November 9, 2006 he knows his young boys for sure. I nearly called this thread Wenger and young boys but didnt want to stir controversy. Or annoy fans of Swiss football
Leo No.8 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 What I want to know is how the f*ck do they get work permits?

He must have the largest scouting network on earthMuamba came over as an asylum seeker, not to play for Arsenal. From day one he was intent on getting the best young players around and was prepared to bend/break the rules and/or pay big money to get them. We pretty much only started doing that when Rafa came in, hopefully in a few years we'll have a queue of young talent waiting to come into the first team.

I presume Arsenal must ahve a tie in with a club that sorts out work permit issues
AE Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 What I want to know is how the f*ck do they get work permits? It has NOTHING, I tell you NOTHING, to do with a Mr Dein and any allegation of that would be down right wrong.
floyd Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 It has NOTHING, I tell you NOTHING, to do with a Mr Dein and any allegation of that would be down right wrong. Slipping the agent something he loves, is like making love to a beautiful woman.
mick Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 It mainly down to Wenger and a lesser extent Brady. Players look at the way they play football (and the way they are encouraged to play) and say yeah I'd like abit of that. The resever team and youth teams are all encouraged to play the same way. Wenger philosophy transcends all teams at the club Stokes could have gone to any number of clubs but choose Arsenal for his footballing education - incidentally Wenger said last year he sees him as a Paul Scholes type central midfieler - Doesn't have the speed for upfront. Cesc was plucked from the Barca youth team - and he was playing for the arsenal first team at 16 - there was no mystery about how good he was hence why Barca were raging. Merida has recently gone the same route Bendnter camee over from Denmark when he just turned 17. Once again everybody knwo he was a great prospect. The same as Lupoli when he came over from Parma. THe same as Vela also Basically everbody knows alot of these players are very good prospects but I believe they simply choose Arsenal and the chance to work with Wenger over other clubs.
