s***, that reminds me: are we going to be wearing white socks for this or is that only Portsmouth away?

Freeeeeaks me out.

Portsmouth wear red socks and Birmingham wear white.

Good, we shouldn't need them. Plenty of midfielders, and Carra as cover for Agger and Paletta - or will he try out the Agger/Carra partnership again?

Some would even argue that the Carra Agger partnership is our number 1 CB pairing.

I think this is exactly the sort of game we need at the moment. A tough away fixture to a team who will be fired up and wanting to show they are still of premiership quality.

This is the sort of game that hard work and gumption are equally important as skill and class. If we lose tonight it will be because we fail to impose our class. If we win, it'll show that we have some backbone in the team/squad.

I'm looking forward to it !!!

I would be one of them. Hyypia may be a tiny bit more reliable, but Agger is the future, gets better with every game...

I would agree to a certain extent. CB's generally get better with age and Hyppia is a fine example of this. The unfortunate thing is that he cant keep his body as fit as his brain. Agger is no doubt the future, but in really tight games Rafa will side with stick with Hyppia for the time being. I wouldnt like to make those decisions, but i guess i would manage if i had Rafas job!

I'm not confident about these League cup games.

Weakened side and the manager with an eye on a vital league game at the weekend, Championship side bang up for revenge.

I make Birmingham slight favourites if we put out an inexperienced team like last time. Not that i'm complaining, Rafa has to keep the core of the team fresh for the league matches.
