This is just the last couple of weeks stats..

 

But arent the number of bookings in spain.. beyond stupid..

 

Are the refs awful or are the players just dirty cheating divers..??

Been saying it for years. Spanish refs, or the rules they have to work under, are the poorest i've ever seen.

 

I was watching Madrid last night, and just as i was thinking this one wasn't too bad. He booked a player for running past an opponent who then fell over. Despite him being about 4 feet away

fecks sake, lowest booking count is one game with two yellows.

The problem is not just with the referees. The players need to be re-educated. Managers and assistants should also come under scrutiny.

 

Until the Spanish FA gets rid of Villar and the Spanish referees asociation finally admit that its members are crap and need to improve - then the problem will just get worse.

 

Sanchez Pijuan yesterday - the ref booked Puñal (m.18), Corrales (m.25), Poulsen (m.52), Javi Navarro (m.53), Kanouté (m.54), Javier Flaño (m.57), Cuéllar (m.61), Valdo (m.65), Raúl Garca (m.74), Delporte (m.82) - he booked Kanoute for complaining - the rest were for violent fouls.

 

The problem was that the ref never stamped his authority on the game in spite of showing so many cards - Osasuna kicked three tyes of living sch*te out of Sevilla CF because that was their game plan and realistically it was their only hope of getting a decent result. Instead of booking all Osasunas midfield and defence he should have sent Puñal off after 25 minutes - the animal had committed six violent fouls before that time point. The rest of the players would have taken heed and calmed down.
