Puyol's father killed in labor accident

Josep Puyol, 56, died on Friday after becoming trapped under a mechanical digger whilst repairing a road in the Catalan province of Lleida, news agency Europa Press added.

Puyol learned of the accident after his plane landed in A Coruna, where the team was due to play a league match Saturday against Deportivo. The Spain defender has flown back to Barcelona to be with his family and will not play in the match between Deportivo la Coruna and Barcelona.
