jon_hall Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 It's f***ing right though. Should be renamed Reclaim Anfield from the daytripper not having a f***ing clue how to support the club brigade, but far too long.
Bao Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Some great ideas in there. Would the education campaign cover Munich chants and pulling up any of the racist stuff that's been mentioned recently? Might be a thought if they are really going to approach the club for cooperation.

Majority of the people in Anfield on matchday are season ticket holders, but the few thousand daytrippers are to blame?

Infact they look at you like your a f*ckin alien! I Buy all my tickets for the kop now! f*ck the view! Edited November 3, 2006 by uppsala

bazz Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 A great idea, but targetting the "day tripper" really isn't the way to do it. Considering that the season ticket holders make up most of the crowd, would it not be better to target those. Most of us on here not from Liverpool will have experiences of sitting between scouse voices and listening to them complain and not sing the whole game. A good idea all the same, but target all, not the few..
Gunga Din Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 the club need to organise a proper singing section within the Kop. the atmosphere at league games is getting worse
DanielS Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 GET THE STHs OUT THE KOP Or at least allow the re-arragement of seating to let groups of mates to sit together.
Guest Jack Bauer Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 People are far more willing to sing on Euro nights because of standing. It's also easier to sing when you're standing.
owenthomas Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 "HERE I AM!! NO HERE! I CAN SEE YOU YA BLIND GIT! HEEERE! HELLOOOO!! HAHAHAHA YEAH, IN THE LIVERPOOL SHIRT! NO FURTHER UP! HERE! LOOK!" that's my number one pet hate i think.. for f*** sake.. as someone's mentioned as well, you sometimes feel a little bit 'alien' if you try and join in a chant and all around you don't get stuck in as well.. that does my head in..
AE Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 As an expirenced OOTer and day tripper, wool and someone who should de despised may I say....The amount of ****ing locals I see on the Kop etc not making any ****ing effort to support their team really ****s me off particularly when it is always the "non-scouse" people who get the blame for the poor atmosphere. The house ain't in f****ng order so why tar all the ****ing OOTers with the same ****ing brush. :rant over: PS - What would anyone reckon to ST "singing sections" in the middle of the kop, Anny Road etc with the club having the right to move ST holders to other seats if they don't contribute to the atmosphere over a period of games... Maybe slightly artificial I know but kjust a though (and if its a romario I apologise now)

Knoxy Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 This is a cracking idea Needs to be done in a non-confrontational manner, or people will react negatively and get defensive.

There needs to be a bit of honesty in these arguements and there's a need to dispell the rubbish that it's the day trippers who are totally at fault. I sit in the upper Cent and there is a large group of locals who sit behind me and they area gone home by the 85th minute, with the previous 84 minutes been a diatribe of slanging of our players. Further to this, anytime someone with a foreign accent (i.e. non English speakers as opposed to paddies, etc) jumps up and starts singing there are all these sniggers and looks towards them from the locals with a "have a look at that plonker" look on their faces. Of course the day trippers (of which I'm one) have their problems, but to believe this is the be all and end all is blind. Amongst the other probems is football snobbery and people trying to dictate how others should support the team. Who the f*** are these people that think they can dictate re a club that was here decades before they were and will be here centries afer they're gone? Maybe if they spent their time singing instead of spending their time casting unapproving glances and comments, we would have a better atmosphere On the flip side, I hate the "Who are yer" and "easy easy" chants, but if the ones starting threse threads are all singing, then the good chants will drown out the crap ones.
Guest ritchie_50 Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Something needs to be done because the atmosphere is a disgrace. Benitez always compliments the fans and the atmosphere at Anfield but its generally non existent. Didn't the mancs do something similar about 5 years ago? I think the club should do someetihng about it now but if the new stadiums on the horizon then its imperative, there's something geared towards getting a good group of singers congregated together. Its the season ticket holders alot of the time who don't make the effort and daytrippers aren't going to turn up to Anfield and start the chants off.
Guest Jack Bauer Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 another great post. Didn't you sit in the main stand the other night for the view?
Andy @ Allerton Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 For all dissatisfied reds.http://forum.raotl.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=38505 I don't know why - but everytime you have a loud-mouthed absolutely know-nothing w***** talking about s**** - they are Welsh.
