Stevie H Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 that tonight was the biggest, best, lovliest and most studied f*** you to everybody who knows less about football than rafa does. i heard the starting XI and laughed my head off. rafa, rafa, rafa. the man's majestic.
Stevie H Posted October 31, 2006 Author Posted October 31, 2006 ran himself out on 99, the fool!lol! you work on the mirror headlines? loved tonight, the most studied 'right hermanos, start your f***ing stopwatches again'. wonderful.
Romario Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 ITV4 spent about an hour before the game banging on about it. When the team was announced they all just sat their with faces like slapped arses.

Romario Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 lol! fantastic. missed all that s****, but just underlines rafa's clout. that man is simply ahead of everyone else. What I like about him is he's so self assured. He really doesn't give a crap about journos and the media or if he does he hides it well. He's got his stock answers which give away zero and he smiles and gets on with it. He gives the impression that he really doesn't care what people think as long as the board and players are behind him. Great way to be.
Skillz Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Rafa's father was in the media i believe and has schooled Rafa on its goings on. We saw earlier this year how he sorted Jose. Rafa is the man.

Rafa is the man.Ah very interesting. I always presumed that the spanish press gave their coaches a hard time hense he was so coy when he arrived here. Savvy bloke alright. Pity Mourinho wouldn't shut it for a while too.
Jonesy Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 back to the drawing board with all them songs in the other thread!!
Spike Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 I know mate. I was gutted to hear we'll be stuck on 99 for another two years or so
Lee W Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Dare I say our manager truly shares a similiar sense of wit as the great man himself.
Benitez Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Ah very interesting. I always presumed that the spanish press gave their coaches a hard time hense he was so coy when he arrived here. Savvy bloke alright. Pity Mourinho wouldn't shut it for a while too. tha Spanish press may well be tough on teams / coaches. But unlike the nasty, vindictive s***houses here, it's not tabloid driven. Like in France, they have specialist sports papers, they have broadsheets, not scummy tabloids. And yes I know they have papers that side with specific teams, but at least they are open about it! Here, the press love nothing more than a failure and if that doesn't happen by itself, they'll provide a witchhunt to help it along. In other countries it's not failure they crave, it's success. And the toughness comes from a craving for that. Rafa's coyness here was more to do with language I think. I keep expecting him to let loose one day with the press. He did so in Spain a couple times.
AE Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 (edited) Good on Rafa,I wonder if they will now drop this or just change the perspective slightly. They were already building up the Arsenal game on ITV last night. Edited November 1, 2006 by AE
Kopfaithful Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 i actually wondered if picking the same side was to help bury the noel white story - that had broken for around 30 minutes, when all of a sudden "rotation" or lack of it was able to come to the top of the media's agenda again and the noel white thing was almost forgotten about.
Coyler Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 I was hoping he'd make a triple substitution in the first minute. They'd flip ... I mean flip for real.

Benitez Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 nah, rafa's papa owned hotels. and he was a journalist.
owenthomas Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 I was hoping he'd make a triple substitution in the first minute. They'd flip ... I mean flip for real.
