We don't have enough players that are in form to drop the ones currently playing.

 

I've defended rotation and have no probblem with it but we perhaps need to drop it in the short term, pick a strong 11 and give them a solid run of games together. Once we've established that strong core of the team again then we can look to swap players in and out again.

 

Problem is at the moment we're rotating players playing poorly with more players playing poorly.

I Dont think Benitez is doing much wrong with team selections. There are one or two strange ones, and i do believe players on form should keep their place, ie, Crouchy.

 

But we have too many players off form. Whether thats the fault of the training sessions or what i dont know. We just dont seem to have anyone on any sort of form this season apart from Crouch.

I'd drop Gerrard before Alonso or Sissoko. Gerrard is playing more like a liability than an asset at the moment.

Gerrard, like many others, is playing s*** at the minute. Moving him in to the m,iddle wont stop him playing s***. Even if it did there is a lot more to our problems than one player being "out of position".

Agger has to start when fit, his abilty on the ball should allow us to become more fluent in posession, both Sami and carra hoof it too much which means we dont keep the ball and build through the midfield enough.

I thought we started well and then dropped the pace - countless times going forward we stopped in midfield and gave them time to put all their team behind the ball

It seemed to have a feel of inevitability about the whole performance after the first ten minutes - lack of drive/enthusiasm, sloppy passing even over the shortest distances, aimless long balls - usually from Hyppia - to their defence, no closing down. I know we are better than this but it had a feel of England under SGE in a big tournament - just not good enough.
