Mike Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 why does LFC have to hit rock bottom before the season turns around.season after season it's the same. we can't just be slightly out of sorts, we have to be f***ing terrible. then slowly but surely we get back to form and start to play well.on the plus side i think sunday was our rock bottom.
Mike Posted October 23, 2006 Author Posted October 23, 2006 until its corrected, we'll never sustain a league challenge.very surprised that rafa has (in my opinion) made such basic errors this season of buying lots of players and then starting the season with them all.football at any level is all about confidence, what should have happened is that the team that knows each other well and is settled should start the season, get some points on the board, then one by one the new guys are introduced.mass introduction of newbies is never ever going to work...unless they are all absolutely world class and their innate ability will get them through. we aint in that market.

I thought the match against Everton was, then i thought Bolton, now I just hope it was yesterday
Stevie H Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 didn't think we could play worse than the first half against blackburn, but yesterday was worse.
Will Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I can't honestly recall a worse performance than that second half display. If you can think of one, please don't remind me of it
Mike Posted October 23, 2006 Author Posted October 23, 2006 I can't honestly recall a worse performance than that second half display. If you can think of one, please don't remind me of it you're right Will. not when you consider the game and the opponent.
Chili Palmer Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I can't honestly recall a worse performance than that second half display. If you can think of one, please don't remind me of it Southampton away in Rafas first season was just as bad if not worse, we didn't even try.
DanielS Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 We need a new away kit. Judging from the passing yesterday the away kit makes it difficult to spot a team mate...
Gravy Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Atrocious, inept, and asbsolutely diabolical. The players, management and staff all need to tak a good look at themselves coz it's not fecking good enough.
Barnesy_10 Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 to be out of the league race in April, March, February, January is one thing.... but to be out of it in October is another.. the game yesterday wound me right up, ended up arguing with the wife throughout the game... Sheffield United and Watford are better than us away from home.... the moment I saw Rooneys brother (the one singing that shipman song on youtube) walk past my living room window halfway through the first half I knew we would lose... just not in the pathetic way we did.. Southampton away in Rafas first season was just as bad if not worse, we didn't even try.have to agree with that one.... that was the last time I was disgusted with the team, and I am disgusted with myself to even feel like that.
Ronnie Whelan Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 That was soooo painful. I can only imagine how bad it was trying to get of old trafford.

Jimi Rojo Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 WHen is Harry 'the saviour' Kewell back? hopefully he can remember how to play football
D.Boon Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 We are awful at the moment and as bad as the players were yesterday, Rafa is as much to blame. Gonzalez was our best player yesterday and gets taken off for Pennant, who continues to look like the biggest waste of money since Diouf.

Mike Posted October 23, 2006 Author Posted October 23, 2006 i should have added to my every year its the same post, that we get a huyton red post at the start of August saying categorically that we will win the league.as soon as i see that i know we're starting on the wrong foot
Barnesy_10 Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 We are awful at the moment and as bad as the players were yesterday, Rafa is as much to blame. Gonzalez was our best player yesterday and gets taken off for Pennant, who continues to look like the biggest waste of money since Diouf. I can see the similarities... Diouf looked spot on in his first competitive game at Anfield against Southampton... then went to s***...Pennant looked fantastic against Haifa then has gone to s***...but will someone tell me why our right winger feels the need to cut inside?? You're a winger for crying out loud. Hes doing nothing that Kewell, Garcia or Gerrard can't do!! Against Haifa he was used as a WINGER and was fantastic... doing everything he did against us last season playing for Brum... I just don't get why hes not being played like that anymore.
Rex Ham Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 2-0 away at Fulham was worse. This hurts much more though obviously. Lets f'in hope to f'kery that was the bottom of the curve.

Guest Anders Honoré Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 diouf didn't actually turn sh*t. he played really well if you ignore has lack of goals. He was just a f***head.
Guest Greasy Belcher Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I hate to admit this. Watching the game against Man United reminded me of watching England playing superior opposition, no fuukin idea how to break down the opposition, no fuukin idea how to pass the bass to a player 20 yards away, no fuukin idea how to move as a unit, no fuukin idea how to create a decent chance. It was like watching a midget being swallowed by a huge boa constrictor for 90 minutes. All the while knowing there was nobody on the bench itching to come on and drag us from the quicksand. All summed up for me when Reinna held the ball shouting at the whole team for someone to make themselves available for the ball and nobody wanted it. Dire performance, I can honestly say I play better football in the amature leagues than our paid superstars are producing at the moment. Arses need to be kicked, I've passed wind with more accuracy than the current imposter wearing alonsos shirt. Gerrard looks less likely to score than the elephant man. Kuyts working his socks off, but we need that kind of class on the edge of the opposition box, not chasing back to cover carra and sami's miss kicked clearances. Even Rafas dropping the ball pre and post games with his comments. - And for fuucksakes rafa, don't get sucked into believing Alex Ferguson is a buddy or a nice guy, he's a fuukin snake. He say nice stuff before and after the game to create a freindly atmosphere with you and the players, then get in his own teams dressing room and he will be kicking the shiit out of his players and berrating them when they are winning 2-0. -- Rafa has been played like a fiddle by red nose in every league encounter since arriving. I'd rather Rafa sat with his fingers in his ears singing la la la la before the games against united. RANTS NOT OVER, I'M TO PISSSED OFF TO TYPE ANY MORE. BELIEVE ME I AM STILL RANTING IN MY HEAD AND WILL BE FOR DAYS, POSSIBLY WEEKS UNTILL OUR INDIVIDUALS START PLAYING AS A TEAM, OR AT LEAST START TO LOOK LIKE THEY GIVE A FFFFK
Internationinteroperability Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I can't honestly recall a worse performance than that second half display. If you can think of one, please don't remind me of it Rafa's first season So'ton away. THE worst Liverpool performance I have EVER seen!
Bootle Buck Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 The league has become far too unforgiving. Chelsea, Man Utd and @rsenal won't lose too many games between them so you have to stay neck and neck the whole way. Digging yourself out of a slow start is nearly impossible unless the top three teams implode.
Barnes' left foot Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 until its corrected, we'll never sustain a league challenge.very surprised that rafa has (in my opinion) made such basic errors this season of buying lots of players and then starting the season with them all.football at any level is all about confidence, what should have happened is that the team that knows each other well and is settled should start the season, get some points on the board, then one by one the new guys are introduced.mass introduction of newbies is never ever going to work...unless they are all absolutely world class and their innate ability will get them through. we aint in that market. Well said. I do think that Rafa has tried to implement the new players too quickly into the team. I know in some cases he's been forced to (Riise's injury, Kewell not available), but I think replacing Kewell with Gonzalez, Warnock coming in to cover Riise, and Bellamy or Kuyt taking over the vacant spot left by Morientes would have been okay. But when he's played Pennant on the right but then moved Gerrard to the left, or dropped Crouch when he's been scoring regularly, or playing Aurelio (who hasn't impressed) on the left and then dropping Gonzalez for a few games, has messed up the confidence of the squad IMO. Rafa has a way that he wants Liverpool to play. Now the players that he had last season were starting to understand his ideas, which is why I think we did pretty well in the League, but this season, he's playing the new players before they have fully understood what he wants from them, and I think this is causing the problem. Last season the only new players who were regulars in the side were Reina, Sissoko and Crouch. Agger joined in January and he hardly played last season. This season Bellamy, Kuyt, Aurelio, Pennant and Gonzalez have all had regular starts in the side and the only one who seems to have slotted in quickly is Kuyt. Bellamy and Gonzalez are showing promise, but are not quite there yet. This has also not been helped by the poor form of the senior players, which I don't really understand. Some have said that its the World Cup hangover, but Chelsea, Arsenal and the Mancs all had players at the World Cup, and some players have come back playing better than ever (Drogba and Essien spring to mind). I think Rafa has to keep a settled side from now on or we'll continue to see poor results in the League.
