Guest RedIsMyColour Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Cappello has really sorted them out this season. Excellent defence especially with Cannavaro in there marshalling it all, Ramos finally looking like he has settled. Diarra and Emerson keeping it tight in midfield and Raul, Robinho and Guti looking good going forward with Van the man banging them in up top. Plus they have Ronaldo, Beckham, Reyes and Cassano to choose in reserve. Quite fancy them at 12/1 odds in the champs league. Really impressive tonight.
anny road Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 saw the second half..... cannavaro is some player so is rvN
stressederic Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Cannavaro was a f***ing monster tonight.
Ombudsam Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 They were really good for the first 15 mins and the second half. I wonder if they'll replicate that form.
George Costanza Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 saw the second half..... cannavaro is some player so is rvN cannavro would be my choie for world player of the year. he's a defender so he won;t get though.
Cunny Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 they were fecking gash last week and it was rumoured that Capello tendered his resignation. I think Barca would have got at least a draw tonight with Eto'o.They missed a load of chances at 1-0.
stressederic Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Eto'o is a big miss for Barca at the moment.
Guest RedIsMyColour Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Gudjohnson was poor tonight too. Although he is more of a link man than targetman. Agree about Cannavaro should get WPOTY. Messi for young player, joy to watch at times.
cochyn Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Madrid looked good tonight and the result will help get the fans behind Capello and his 'cautious' tactics. Van the man looks reborn, and once Robinho stops being such a bell-end he'll be devastating. Best 'derby' game today by a country mile. And that's worrying.
Guest Banana Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 I forgot all about El Clasico - was busy doing my final paper in public relations! And of course, as luck would have it, there's no replay over here...
Ostrich Man Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 "Van the man." indeed. has he scored any from outside the box over there yet? or does that not matter anymore.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 this result will paper over the cracks for now, but capello still has a lot of work ahead of him. they've been shambles this season so far.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 "Van the man."indeed.has he scored any from outside the box over there yet?or does that not matter anymore.once a manc, always a c***. Except Busby
stressederic Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 this result will paper over the cracks for now, but capello still has a lot of work ahead of him. they've been shambles this season so far. I've no idea who Madrid are playing next week, but they'll lose.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 not if they're at home to Liverpool
stressederic Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 not if they're at home to Liverpool They're not that lucky.
Nebraska Red Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Barca had some clear chances, the miss by Gudjohnsonn was criminal and Messi had a decent chance as well. How they expect to score with no centre forward is beyond me, I can't think of another team who would play without a main striker in their line up. Or can I???? Cannavaro was good and RVN took his goal well. However, I would expect to see Madrid lose to some bottom of the league team next week, They looked good today, but they are inconsistent.
Maldini Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 There was talk of Capello going if they'd lost in midweek and tonight. The same old ego problems still plague them, too many players won't sacrifice for the greater good. Maybe last night's result will change things, we'll see.
