If he hadn't declared for Portugal he would be first choice now without a doubt. Daniel Alves is class and he's not in the Brazil team, there are loads of class Brazilian players who get overlooked for whatever reason.

Off the field problems are not helping and he's been woeful in training too. Hopefully it is nothing more than a temporary loss of form but Rijkaard has been concerned enough to have had three private meetings with the player - something Rijkaard is not prone to do
