But his age apparently makes him recover slower than before and time certainly is running out. Mind you, at 33 years of age that's hardly surprising. He should give up international duty asap.

I thought Finnan had a good game, kept Giggs quiet until they scored the 2nd, and then the whole defence just shat themselves everytime ManUre attacked.

I think Sammi should be second string. Reminds me too much of the Houllier style of play. Sure he's effective against the European away sides, but f***ing hell time to blood new defenders and start Agger for most games.

 

Wouldn't hurt to give Paletta a run or two to put pressure on Carra to lift his game. Wouldnt hurt to bench Reina for a game or two either.

 

However, we need to pick a consistent side in the premiership and stick with it:

 

Reina

Finnan Carra Agger Aurelio

Gerrard Alonso Sissoko Riise/Gonzo

Bellamy/Crouch Kuyt

 

Thats the only f^cking side I can see getting us out of this quagmire. Rotation is fine if its done around competitions, not just willy frigging nilly.

I thought Sami's passing today was awful which seemed to spread throughout the team and in the end we couldn't pass today.

Your defenders might be poor at the moment, the reason you are losing the games aren't them though, it is your piss poor midfield. They do not create much and they do not support the defenders much either. The defenders start looping the ball forward directly to the strikers because no midfielders are available.

This sadly has been the case all season away from home. We are having to go through many phases of possession to get the ball even up to half way, the midfield and the defence have been far too deep (probably due to a lack of confidence) and unable to link the attack together. The midfield really needs to be far less static than it has been too.

Sami needs to be benched. We have Paletta and he can be the understudy to Carra (who I think have peaked already, hope I'm wrong). And last but not least, we need to buy another CB, a classy and pacy defender.

Samis distribution was sometimes poor, but defensively he was solid (note how far left he was sometimes to accomodate the inadequate ginger tool)

I think Carra has looked like a headless chicken this season. Poor positioning, poor covering and generally has looked very average. It's time for our club to get a CH who can play the ball out without hoofing it. Something Carra and Sami do way too much.
