madaboutlfc Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 The performances this season are eroding the love I have for him.. hes never been good at distributing but this season and this match typified why Agger has to take over asap.. his constant giving away the ball caused us a lot of problems and a lack of decision making the first goal..

madaboutlfc Posted October 22, 2006 Author Posted October 22, 2006 He's been better than Carra.which doesnt say much.. we have 2 uncultured centrebacks.. you dont win title with passion
Swipe Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 The defence is a real worry. Thought Hyypia was poor today, as was Riise. Carra not an awful lot better. The whole situation becomes worse when we have a nervous, out of form and confidence keeper who looks capable of making mistakes in every game.
Koogan Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 He was MOM against Bordeaux according to many. But his age apparently makes him recover slower than before and time certainly is running out. Mind you, at 33 years of age that's hardly surprising. He should give up international duty asap.
Guz Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Carra was at fault for both goals. Sami didn't do a lot wrong defensively except in posession of the ball.
McBain Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 He was excellent in midweek and i dont think he was that bad today
Benzo-13 Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 The whole situation becomes worse when we have a nervous, out of form and confidence keeper who looks capable of making mistakes in every game. Harsh, Reina was pretty decent today.
Guest Jack Bauer Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Everytime he gets the ball, I swear there is some brown s*** trickling down his leg and he just kicks it to a Man Utd player.
RedMersey Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Finnan was s**** today. Couldn't get the grip on Giggs. Sami really piss*d me off today. I hope he will only be used in the league cup in the future.
Guest Cameron Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Finnan was s**** today. Couldn't get the grip on Giggs. Sami really piss*d me off today. I hope he will only be used in the league cup in the future.I thought Finnan had a good game, kept Giggs quiet until they scored the 2nd, and then the whole defence just shat themselves everytime ManUre attacked.
Guest AnfieldGrass Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 I think Sammi should be second string. Reminds me too much of the Houllier style of play. Sure he's effective against the European away sides, but f***ing hell time to blood new defenders and start Agger for most games. Wouldn't hurt to give Paletta a run or two to put pressure on Carra to lift his game. Wouldnt hurt to bench Reina for a game or two either. However, we need to pick a consistent side in the premiership and stick with it: ReinaFinnan Carra Agger AurelioGerrard Alonso Sissoko Riise/GonzoBellamy/Crouch Kuyt Thats the only f^cking side I can see getting us out of this quagmire. Rotation is fine if its done around competitions, not just willy frigging nilly. And when is Harry due back? FFS.
deelavo Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 (edited) I thought Sami's passing today was awful which seemed to spread throughout the team and in the end we couldn't pass today. Edited October 22, 2006 by deelavo
Ahmed Dimwitson Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Your defenders might be poor at the moment, the reason you are losing the games aren't them though, it is your piss poor midfield. They do not create much and they do not support the defenders much either. The defenders start looping the ball forward directly to the strikers because no midfielders are available.

This sadly has been the case all season away from home. We are having to go through many phases of possession to get the ball even up to half way, the midfield and the defence have been far too deep (probably due to a lack of confidence) and unable to link the attack together. The midfield really needs to be far less static than it has been too.
Guest Linton Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Sami needs to be benched. We have Paletta and he can be the understudy to Carra (who I think have peaked already, hope I'm wrong). And last but not least, we need to buy another CB, a classy and pacy defender.
Earl Hafler Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Time to think of the future and use Carra and Agger. Sami still has much to offer but he is not first choice anymore.
shanks59 Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Samis distribution was sometimes poor, but defensively he was solid (note how far left he was sometimes to accomodate the inadequate ginger tool)
muleskinner Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 BBC Teletext linking us with a Jan bid for Matthew Upson.
Guest Linton Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Wow, he is SOOO much better then what we alrady have. Not.We need world class players from now on. Not 6-7 reasonable good players every season but 1-2 of the best there is.
Bootle Buck Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 I think Carra has looked like a headless chicken this season. Poor positioning, poor covering and generally has looked very average. It's time for our club to get a CH who can play the ball out without hoofing it. Something Carra and Sami do way too much.
Guest JV Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Thought Carra struggled more than Sami.Been that way since the start of the season imo
